Rainbow Kush Computer Case LST! Need Nute Help!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by z90808, Sep 1, 2011.

  1. so i have some bag seed Rainbow Kush plants growing in two one gallon water containers that i cut in half. i plan on have them growing in a computer case that i constructed with four 23 watt CFLs although since day 1, so far i have had them outdoors all day and then under the CFLs at night. i am growing using LST to get max yield out of the small space (im growing the stem around the perimeter of the container). The leaves on the lower part of the stem on one plant started developing brown spots and the leaves began turning light green/yellow. i believed it to be nute deficiency so i fed it and it improved a bit and now its back to no good and the second plant is having the same problem. i have them in Miracle Grow seed starter soil mixed with perilite and am using Soil A/B nutrients. I just watered them with nutrients for the second time in a row. im hoping its just N and P deficiency because the plant absorbs all teh nutes super fast in the small amount of soil and i had only been feeding every other watering.

The first three pictures are the first plant and the last four pictures are teh second plant which is doing better than the first one and showed signs later.

    what do you guys think?

  2. should i cut off the tainted leaves?

  3. yes cut off the dying leaves (never hesitate to remove them because decaying plant matter attracts all kinds of bugs), and it does look like nutrient defficiency. do you have good drainage? are you PHing your water/nute mix? Where are you getting the water from?

  4. You need to feed it Nitrogen. I left my yellowing leaves on the plant until the day I touched them and they fell off themselves... Check my blog out, one of the plants on there had same problem. Once you feed it Nitrogen the plant should move it's leaves back up into normal positioning. The yellowing will stop but the yellowing leaves will start to turn a brownish color. Then they crumble and just handle the leaves and stem a bit... and in time they will just fall off to your touch. Post my pictures when you see improvements please.

    Hope this helps!

  5. Thanks for the responses!

the drainage is good and i just made the drain holes a little bigger actually. i am using store bought distilled water that i have been using on all four of my plants (1 is harvested and another is a week away from being done) so i know pH isnt a problem. i fed teh little ladies with nutrients yesterday and hope they recover. i read that some strains absorb nutrients really fast so i may just give full nutrients every other watering but still give them shots of nutrients with the water that normally would be just water. ill trim the yellowing leaves and hopefully no more will show up. its sad how bare it makes the plant look :( haha

i plan on flowering them in another week or so and i want NO stress so they go female. ill post picts in a few days hopefully showing a good recovery.

is there any nitrogen only additive i could give it so maybe i dont overdue the P and K?

  6. Yes there is nitrogen additive. I have one made by a company called "Natures Nectar"

  7. i also found some citrus tree nutes laying around that are super high in nitrogen (7-3-3). maybe use a little of that if they dont recover from what im doing now

  8. Here are some picts of how the plants are now, they look healthy. The last picture is where i had FIMd the top of the plant which yielded four primary shoots.

  9. so now the yellowing of the leaves is gone but the lowest shoot still has browning on the edges of the leaves and a couple other random fan leaves (including a few sprouting shoot's fan leaves) have small brown tips. this is only on one of the plants which is interesting because i have the exact same regiment for both plants and the otehr plant is 100% healthy and recovered from the earlier problem. idk if its still a P deficiency or not. the worst leaves are the couple that are on the lowest shoot from the main stem. I have fed both plants the past two waterings with full strength nutes and i dont want to overdue it. here are some picts

    This plant died on me.....[IMG]

so did the small one beside it, first i was told it was an over-nitrogen problem cos this causes the leaf tips to curl downwards, then it looked like this [IMG]

think it was nute burn alrite lol this was the plant i used the pellets on, 777 ferts, only i mixed them with the soil, its from this grow here that i decided never to use granule ferts again, liquid feeds give a more even feed someone on here once told me :)

  11. No no no its a mute definceny its probably mute burn get out of that mirical grow now ha
