the 2nd one's old, but still an instant classic

  3. It never crossed my mind (closing it). You guys generally take real good care of this thread. It was just a gentle poke to keep it on topic.
Due to the nature of the beast and active minds, it is easy to fall into discussions (which really deserve their own threads). :smoke:

  5. heres my beef; why do people actually entertain the absurd thought that these assholes do it out of ignorance? We know exactly why they do it. It doesnt take 200 iq point to see. Money, power, control, repeat.

  6. lmao I know right. Like three pages.

  7.
I think people resort to a state of willed-ignorance and cognitive dissonance as a way of comforting themselves - they find it to be preferrable to the realization that they have essentially no control over a rigged system that is controlled by sociopaths for the express benefit of sociopaths.

I do not agree with your definitions. Socialism is opposite of capitalism, where capitalism is economic policies based on hierarchical forces, i.e., owner - board - president - vice president - district managers - managers - workers, while socialism is based on horizontal forces, i.e., worker control, this is socialism's historic use. Socialism has been used to describe a market economy that leads to communism, its not the other way around. Just because workers control more of a business doesnt mean prices somehow go away. This is what happens when you listen to people like Rand, Friedman, Rothbard, Mises etc when they give definitions of socialism, they are completely skewing it.

Workers are clearly extorted, the whole process is selling your labor for a fraction of what it is worth because you are destitute, which leads to surplus - reinvestment - hoarding. Sure, a poverty stricken worker "benefits" from working for a fraction of what they actually produce, and sure its "voluntary", but I've already explained this is a false dichotomy ancaps have created. There is no free market, stop repeating this dogma.

If this conversation is derailing the thread then another thread can always be made.

No, capitalism seeks to sell labor for a fraction of what it produces, it has historically been a market system of exploitation. Why do you think there have been hundreds of years worth of worker movements?

It does need poverty, the whole point is to find poor people who are so meager and stricken that they are willing to sell their labor for less than what it can produce, it thus creates a dependency - on the business class - and cycle - poor begets poor. If people are not destitute then they will not work for less and will not maintain the capitalist business model.

You are missing the point, there is no free-market because capitalism is based on coercion (using threats and/or violence to achieve an end), because it uses the threat of nature i.e. starvation, to get people to sell their labor for less than what it actually produces. I understand this premise of nature which is why I dont advocate - anymore - an economic system which grants privileges to a minority who can wield it over a majority, i.e. capitalism.

    See above note about derailing.

  10.
For the sake of preserving the true intention/purpose of this thread, could you please PM me regarding an economic system which does not create a class division or establish a permanently impoverished minority/majority?

Thanks goober, I don't mind talking about this somewhere else.

what you need to do is, well first of all post both pictures in a single post, but regards to actually posting pictures, right click an image on the net, select 'copy image location',  and when you want to post- the image icon which is under 'text colour' and 'smiley', click that and copy paste the location,  that is much easier and simpler and then attaching a picture, and uploading them all small

  14. A little late, but oh well.

On the reals, I don't come to this thread to read entire pages about your political opinions and bickering. I come here to read the memes.
