Ok, this is my first thread on grasscity, and I really like the forums. But I have kind of a problem. Well, I live with my parents, and my mom is the biggest stoner I know, and my dad used to smoke a lot too, but eventually stopped. I smoke on a daily basis about 4 or 5 times a day. Both my parents know I smoke, and they are fine with it. And they know all my friends smoke. And my dad says, just smoke behind the garage (we have a small wooded area behind there). Sounds good right? :) The thing is that I hide smoking from them because I feel guilty when they know I'm stoned, to the point to where I don't even talk to them on the phone when I had just smoked, and it's really bothering me. I just want to know everyone's opinion.

Keep hiding it from them?

or..

Smoke freely and not care?

Thanks for reading guys. And please help.. :smoke:

I don't know, that's the thing. It's all just guilt. For some reason?

I think people forget that mj is a drug. It affects the way you think and how you interact with others.

You obviously sense that your dad wishes that you would stop smoking.

My advice: smoke less, and smoke in an environment that is separate from your parents (friends house, etc).

I could relate to what you're saying although my parents didn't tolerate smoking in/around the house at all. Your parents know of your marijuana use so there shouldn't be anything that is stressing you out. My advice would be don't let your guilty conscience overcome you, they're your parents and they love you no matter what.

that makes since. i'm going to come home totally gone, and see what my parents do. my mom will just probably ignore me, and my dad would just look at me and laugh. haha

I am going through the same thing with my mom. She allows me to smoke but I would never light up infront of her or in the house.
My advice is to smoke less so that you can still keep a relationship with your family and wait till you move out to smoke 5+ times a day

I think pretty much everyone wishes they had a problem like yours. I'd say just be discreet about it. It's not like being drunk where you do a bunch of crazy shit and people give you a disgusted look, to your parents it's probably the equivalent of seeing a person smoking a cigarette. Chill, man.

i dont really understand what the problem is here? You said you feel guilty? If there fine with it as you said than why would you feel any guilt in smoking.

Just straight up ask them. Sit them both down and ask them "Does me smoking bother you?" Good luck pal!:smoke:

I am allowed to smoke in my house because both my mom and dad permit it, but I always feel strange if they know I've smoked recently and I almost think they treat me differently when they think I'm stoned (but then again I'm likely just being paranoid).

I smoke freely whenever I want but I do try to plan it around times that my parents will be out of the house because I don't even want them to suspect that I've smoked recently.
