Whats up guys.. take a look at this pic and ill explain further... I'm getting a grow together in a pretty big tent, The initial plan was to grow 20-25 plants under one 1000 watt hps. After doing some reading ive decided that 2x1000 watt hps are going to be needed. now my questions are.. can i connect the carbon filter to the first light, connect the two lights with ducting, and then pull the air out with a beefy inline fan. It seems like it will work to me, just creates a negative pressure in the tent, while cooling two lights, and eliminating the smell. Any advise on this would be great, like what cfm should the fan be? will it work?? Also, for maximum yield, how many plants would you recommend in this set up??? thanks for your time!!
That'll work, I've seen it done lots of times... Don't know about the CFM specifically, depends on your temps and the size of the filter and and and... Just get a nice big fan You could do 25 plants per light, 5x5 gives you 1 sq. ft. per plant and the 1000w should cover that no problem.
you want me to put 50 plants in there!?!?!? the whole plan is is to have two of these tents running for flowering purposes only, a month apart from each other. 8 week flowering cycle.. harvest every month. I really think less would be better due to the amount of volume..
That'll work well but watch that heat. I grow in a smaller tent (8x8x4) and use 2x1000, and ive got one big fan pulling from my carbon filter and pushing through the lights and a second ducted straight into the tent to pull off heat.
50 plants in a tent that size is gonna be crazy tight. You could run that plant/light ratio in a bigger room. 25 should work better in that space.

marmothealth, do you have the carbon filter on the floor? or up with the lights? Are you running 8" through it all? Can i please get some specs/pics of your set up?
CAN 9000 standing upright in a crate stand. 6" CAN-Fan attached directly to the filter. 5 feet of 6" ducting running into tent and to hood one (1000w), then 2 feet of 6" to hood two (1000w). Then three feet of 6" running out of the tent. Open ended, but covered by black cheese cloth to keep outside light and bugs out. I also run 4" ducting into the tent through the bottom vents, oscillating fan inside tent on one side, to bring cool air in and give plants strength, and a 4" hydrofarms fan on the other side to pull heat.

Yeah, ive got a grow journal titled "Sealed Room 7/7". Posted photos there, let me know if you can't find it and I'll repost to this thread. Only 1x1000 watt halide running currently (and shown in photos), I'll run that through veg, then add another hood when I switch to flower. Lights will also change to 1000 watt hps in flowering
