  1. Looking on purchasing some sort of scope or magnifying glass.

Any good ones on the market to zoom into them trichomes?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Go with magnifying glass . I think it would be easier to use.I am definitely getting one.
P.S.I am using no name mini scope (from amazon) it is nice, but can not be used to take any close up pictures of trichomes....

  3. go with a microscope much more fun.

    They cheap also

  4. Just get both :)

  5. i have both, a 8x magnifying glass that i use for identifying pests and other problems, then i have a 40x pocket microscope for looking at trichome and calyx formations.

  6. Word, get bowfum, they each have their place.

  7. Any online sites to purchase them besides Ebay? Lol. Don't seem to trust Ebay.

  8. they sell them at walmart, target, hobby lobby, michaels. hobby shops will have em too

  9. I cant see shit with a magnifying glass or my jewlers loop which is 30x. I find it much easier to use my pocket 100x scope.

  10. I heard that man. I can't tell much more than 'the trich's are there' with a 30x.

  11. Same. I can see them but I just see a mass. What I normally do since I cant hold the plant and 100x Pocket scope still enough is I cut small leaves on the buds and take a peek.

  12. Everybody talks about to RadioShack microscope 60x100 but I find it has poor light you really can't see the color of the trics clearly without a lot of light does anyone know any nice microscopes to hook up to the computer maybe

  13. look man you just need something you can hold up to the bud long enough for it to focus. i have a 20x40x scope that i paid like $12 at wally world, that works fine. hell i even have stoner buddies that will call me just to look at their weed through it. there is no real need to spend over $20 on a scope.

  14. I guess it depends on what you want I've seen some microscopes that hook up to the computer that gives you digital images that are incredible I guess it depends on the person me personally I would love the microscope that hooks up to the computer so that's what I'm buying

  15. I use a 12 mega pixel digital point and shoot camera in macro mode and hold it really still - I also have a 18 mega pixel dslr and also use macro mode

you can zoom in and get up to what looks like 50x magnification using 18 mega pixels and around what looks like 20-30x with the 12 mega pixel one

here is a sample shot using a 12 mega pixel canon point and shoot in macro mode with manual white balance - there are 6 pics all the same plant L.A. Confidential and 31-32 days into flower and all the same branch, the top todn looking ones are the top and the other ones are the side view of nugs 1 under the top one

you have to download the pics and view them on a computer to zoom in on them, you cant do that using the web page

  16. I'm VERY new at all of this but here's what I've tried so far - a 30x loupe, an unknown magnification hand-held magnifier, iPhone camera on zoom, iPhone with magnifier or loupe held over lens, and 420's 60x-100x scope.  So far, the best is the 30X loupe supplemented with a small hand-held LED flashlight (1"x3").  The marveled-at scope has what I consider to be 2 drawbacks: 1) you have to cut a bit of the bud to place on a surface directly under by the scope (basically like a scope from a science class) or 2) place it up against the bud, which results in damage to the bud.  I'm going to try a digital camera with macro setting next.  Oh, I also ordered and tried a low-priced scope with built-in LED that can be linked to a computer for recording video or photos (made in China).  Could not get the thing to work beyond turn on.  I'm not a computer technician but I do have fairly good computer skills.  I couldn't get the software to load.  The directions were so poorly translated I couldn't make any sense of them.  I sent it back the next day.  I will say this about the vendor - excellent customer service in relation to returns.  I'm guessing they have had lots of practice.
