  1. hi this is my 2nd grow and this time i left for veggin longer, now i i have a problem with the grow spurt during flowering didnt realise how big they would get.im limited for space and they starting to burn a little due to the heat from the light any ideas

(im new to the forum so cheers)

  2. Do you know what supercropping/crimping is? It may be of use to you. It's when you apply light pressure to a stem (usually main stem) with two fingers to soften up the middle of the stem without breaking the outside layer of the stem. It creates a bend in the plant because the stem flops over in the new weak spot, allowing side branches to grow upwards to create an even canopy.

  3. Also, how far into flowering are you? Can you post pictures? Are your lights fixed in an unmoveable spot or could you raise them to avoid them burning your plants any more?

  4. Im a rookie but placing a string on the near top of the plant with something somewhat heavy to bend it over slowly might work. Like a book, scissors, TV controller, or something that wont crack the stem when weight applied, will just ever so slowly make growth to the side without stress I'm guessing.

  5. yeah 420 bitch i know of the technique but i didnt know if it was wise to supercrop during flowering. its only the 1st week into flower into flower, last time i only vegged for 4 week this time 5 and made a massive difference. the lights are at the maximum.
cnt take pics yet lost the lead for my fone

i put a 20'' oscalating fan in to cool the bulb a little and tied the man stems to the outer frame of my tent but no stopping them at the moment they gone wild.

would supercropping be the best at this moment before the flowers get any bigger???

    thnks for the answers guys

  6. You're fine to LST in flowering. If fact it can be very beneficial. No matter how well trained a plant is, it will grow during flowering and need more training, tying down, etc. I always LST in flower. I like to wrap a rubber band around the stem and use that to tie a sting to so I don't cut off the plants circulation. String tied to tight can cause problems as the plant grows.

  7. thnx for the input guys gunna try the supercropping this time and lst (tying next) i should have stuck to the original plan did better the 1st time round but we all like to experiment
    :)

  8. I believe LST is part of super cropping. Super cropping is a term for a group of techniques used to increase yield. These include crimping, bending and tying, trimming etc.

  9. Supercropping is a specific technique or set of techniques, different from LST.

I agree with MJMama, LST during flower is fine.

  10. thanks for the input guys + rep

  11. Yep, I've been very adamant about this. LST is applicable at ANY point in the plants life cycle.

  12. Using Low Stress Training during your flowering should be fine and actually beneficial. The problem with FIM or topping especially during flowering is that your plant then has to focus alot of it's energy toward healing itself instead of into the flowers which can greatly impact your yeild depending on how far into flowering you are. It also can make your plants more vunerable to pests and funguses while it's healing which in turn can also diminish your yeilds while flowering. Either way can work and u definitely don't want to burn your plants, but from experience I would highly recommend LST in this or any situation.

  13. This was interesting to me. I also heard that you are not supposed to LST autoflowering plants because they do not recover from stress as well.

MY auto pineapple express plant is already showing pistils and I just started to LST it.

Was this a bad idea like people are saying or am I fine??

  14. I know this is a old Post but had to comment when I saw this. Super Cropping is not low stress training. Ut is actually High stress training. Anytime I damage a plant it causes high amounts of stress. LST is manipulating your plant so as not to damage the plant. With that said it is very common to accidentally super crop your plant while low stress training. If this happens to you no biggie. It happens and your plant will recover.

  15. isn't supercropping specifically when you crush the inside of the stem so that it grows a "knuckle" and that increases uptake/throughput?

  16. That's exactly what it is. I do supercrop my plants but I think you can stress them too much during flower and that's not good. You can herm them like that.
