400 watt HPS what yield should i aim for?

    Hey all.. The title says it all ..

    400 Watt HPS in a 4' length 2' width and 6' high, 48 cubed(?) cupboard.

    Thats including light space.

    what yield is average for this type of grow closet?

    its an organic grow if that matters.

    thanks for any help.

    its a 400 watt HPS/MH . so i will use MH for veg.

    depends on strains, growing method, and health of plants..and how long you plan on vegging..

    there are far to many variables to be sure, but I just pulled 6 ounces off of 2 sour diesel plants under 400 watt mh/hps. it was also my first grow so I know there is alot of room for improvement.

    okay Super Skunk (indica/ sativa) & Tangerine Dream Sativa x Indica

    1 plant each. either topping LST or super cropping.. witch ever GC says is most yielding . (what is your opinion?)

    healthy fully nuted up with high N in veg High P and K in flowering. and organic fertilizer .

    i plan on veging until the 2 plants consume the closet and the light is as high up as can go. so about 5 feet tall if the light has to be 12 " away.

    MH during veg
    HPS in flower.

    bad idea to veg for so long in limited space. your plant will double or sometimes tripile in size when you flip to 12/12

    alright , I realized that after i posted. The veg until plants consume HALF the closet. haha . Whats a good yield off of a single 400 MH/HPS.?

    whats the most you GC members ever scored off of one?

    I pulled 6 ounces off 2 plants under 400 watt mh hps, I know the yield could have been much better, it was my first grow and I knew nothing about growing. they were bubble buckets, and tall ass sativas (sour diesel). I ran into all kinds of problems, one of my plants even broke in half 6 weeks into flower because the hps fell on it.

    A gram per watt is doing really well. A lil less than a pound is a respectable yield. Last time I grew under a 400 hps I got 20 ounces.

    speaking of 400w HPS/mh, i just bought one that came standard with 6" diameter holes for cooling, my question is this...i know that cool air is supposed to enter from the bottom of your "box" and hot air leaves from the top, so how do i setup/what duct materials will i need to maintain temp...will be using mylar for light reflection so there will be greater heat.

    I grow in a 2x4ft space w/ a 400w mh/hps. Three harvests so far. 1st one was a single plant and was 2.75oz, second grow was 1 plant and I got 5.5oz, third one was 2 plants and I got almost 9oz.
