Majorbotany's botanical journal

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by majorbotany, Jun 22, 2011.

  1. Okay guys and gals, after much deliberation, I've decided to do a grow journal :hello:

Still new to the growing game, this is only my 2nd grow ever, I recently finished up my first plant, a Fast Neville from Female Seeds with a yield of just over 3oz's

So, now I introduce you to the conditions of the grow

    The Room
Single 3x3 room for Veg and Flower (at least for now :p)
400 watt MH/HPS w/ 152 watts of CFL side light
4" Vortex exhaust fan with Carbon scrubber
2 6" wall fans blowing across the tops
8" centrifigal fan blowing on lower branches
    Mylared walls
(The 2nd picture shows the free 250watt HPS light that I got from a friend today, for now it's just set up so its a side light in my doorway :p)

    Soil & Nutes

    5 gallon pots

Using a 2:1 ratio of Ocean Forest to Light Warrior
    General Hydroponics entire lineup
    General Organics CaMg+
    Botanicare Silica Blast
Aurora Root Oregonism XL with my waterings
    I water/feed with 50/50 RO/Unsoftened tap water at a PH of 7.00

    What's in the room
I know I'm getting a late start to this journal, but better late than never, right?
Right now, I have 3 Aurora Indica from Nirvana 27 days into flowering.
    All confirmed female
They're 46" at their highest point (I know, pretty tall for an Aurora)
The left is Daisy, she has about 4 top colas, all naturally from a mutation on the center cola when she was still in veg
The right is Stretch, she's got 5 tops colas from being topped 3 times.
The one in the back is Ricky (short for Ricky Retardo), she's just a straight up mutant, I only kept her for shits and giggles to see what she yields, she really doesn't recieve the attention the other 2 do

I'd love to get all kinds of suggestions from you guys, constructive criticism is what I look for :D

On to the good stuff, Buds (well the start of) :smoke:

    Super Skunk - Nirvana
    White Widow - Greenhouse
    Super Lemon Haze - Greenhouse
Super Sour OG - Emerald Triangle
    Emerald Jack - Emerald Triangle
    Grapefruit Krush - Emerald Triangle

Also, for the sake of not having 2 journals, I'll be presenting you guys with the updates on my 4 babies outside as well :D

  3. Day 28 of flower

No real changes tonight, noticing that the internode gaps are filling in nicely now though :D
Watered to about 15% runoff, just water, no nutes.
Light is about 8 inches or so off the top of the plant

One of the buds off Daisy..

Have a good night & happy tokin' guys

  4. Alright, well here's the first update on the ladies outside :hello:
    I have 4 plants out...
2 Fast Neville, both being clones off my indoor plant
1 Purple Maroc by Female Seeds
    1 Grapefruit by Female Seeds
They've been out for 39 days now, and were started in my seedling/clone box.
I feed with Organicare Grow and Bloom from Botanicare
They get about 4oz's of Grow and 1.5oz's of Bloom every 2 weeks.
    So its all organic :D

We've had some crazy storms here the last couple of days so I went out to check on them today and sure enough, my Purple Maroc was on the ground:( Her stem was still in the ground so overall, all is still well. The others were bent over slightly, but still upright.

This is the Purple Maroc, notice the leaves at a 90 degree angle from it being on its side haha

This is the 1st of the 2 Fast Neville's, its turned into a nice bush :D

This is the 2nd Fast Neville, it also got bent slightly, but not completely like the Purple Maroc, but yet the leaves looked almost the same, hope to get this plant a bit more light next time I go out.

Lastly, here's the Grapefruit, havin' some bug problems with this one, has had a nice spray down with bug repellant..

Let me know what you guys think,

    Major

  5. You got yourself some healthy looking trees man! Did you LST that Purple Maroc or was that from a heavy wind or something? Hahaha. Might want to bust out some steaks for support. Those girls will definitley be needing it.

  6. Thanks bro!
and nah, I didn't LST it, the heavy storms here actually knocked her over to the ground, but her root ball was still in the soil so she just started growing on her side.
    Natural LST I guess :p
But yeah, I plan to to take some stakes out next time, considering they're already about 5' haha :D
    Thanks for stoppin' by,

    Major :smoke:

  7. No real news for tonight guys. I did go get a new bulb for that free 250watt HPS though seeing it had been flickering on and off constantly, the new bulb seems to be even brighter as well so thats good seeing I think a lot of the growth down low has grown up.
Looks like they'll be needing food tomorrow so pics and updates then.
Also, I'll be heading to the outdoor plots this weekend so updates on them will be sometime this weekend.

    Major :smoke:

  8. Yess! You finally did it! As long as this journal is here I will be subbed!:hello:
Plants are looking good, Actually impressed with that PM who was tossed to her side, same thing happened to my sugar black rose, and it just has not been the same ever since.
Your Fast Neville looks like a happy bush, you top or fim them at all? Or is that it's natural growth?

  9. Haha thanks man! :D
Yeah, I really hope that she'll be alright, I need to get a couple stakes to her this weekend just to make sure. I was lucky though, her stem never bent and stayed in the ground completely.
And yeah, they've all been topped quite a few times in an attempt to keep em even and bushy :)
Thanks for the input man, happy to have you along for the ride :smoke:

  11. So where is this super sweet update bro!?:poke::confused_2::D

  12. Right here, just for you Serg ;)
So, between work, building the new hood for the 250w HPS and detaching from the ballast, and rigging up my 5,000btu AC unit to push colder air into my room I have been a bit busy [IMG]

So here would be the newly made hood...

  13. Thats what I'm talking about bro! Those ladies look so nice! What strain(s) do you have going indoors under the HPS? Awesome setup for real man. I like that fresh air intake. IMPROVISING!:smoke::D:wave:

  14. Thanks man! :D Right now, its 3 Aurora Indica's from Nirvana. I figured after a nice uppity haze, a good couchlock indica sounded good  haha
Thanks again bro, glad to have you along for the ride, just wish we could get a few more people in here :p
    Take it easy man,

    Major :smoke:

  15. Ahh so, I'm an idiot! Today I went to check on my girl's outside and once I got out there, I realized that in my infinite stoner mind I forgot my camera on my kitchen table  But they got fed, opened up the brush around them to get them some more light and a light watering to help get the nutes in.
So I do not have an update on pictures of them, hopefully I can get some up on Saturday when I plan to go out and give them a good spray down with the neem oil and some water.
The ladies downstairs look to be doing fantastic, really packing on the crystals lately and fattening nicely :D
Oh how I love me a big girl ;)
Pictures up of them tomorrow :)

    Night guys,

    Major :smoke:

  16. Alright, I'm headin' out to check up on my outside ladies in just a few minutes here and I'll hopefully have an in and outdoor update for the blades tonight :)

So, here is the update that I promised :p
The outdoor ladies got a nice hosing with the neem oil to help with the bugs and they each got a half gallon of water.
They've been outside for 48 days now.

Bugs are proving to be a problem for me in 2 of my spots, but hopefully the spray will help it out.

    On to the pics! :hello:
    Starting with the Purple Maroc...
She's about 4'10" so I hope to get her more bushy and less tall.
She's apparently started flowering as well, I don't mind much but I was hoping to really see her mature..You can see the pistils in the 2nd picture.

Here's the 1st of the Fast Neville...
She's about 5'2" and she is a fookin' bush! I couldn't be happier with this plant as of now..

This is the 2nd Fast Neville...
She's a real twin of the 1st, just becoming a nice bush, but about 5'5" or so.
You can see that bugs are being somewhat of a problem with this plant..

    Lastly, here is Miss Grapefruit...
She's about 5'6" and like the Purple Maroc, I'd like to get her to bush out a bit more.
Bugs were absolutely devouring this plant! :(

Anddd here is the indoor update!
Not too much to report here, the plants seem to love the additional light in the room and seem to be sugaring up nicely :D
These girls have been in flower for 38 days and I'm expecting about 67 days.
They're gonna need a feeding tonight and I'll be starting to use the Dry Koolbloom with this feeding, hopefully that'll help in accelerating the budsss :hello:

    Here's a few pics...

    and the Trichs...

    Happy tokin' guys,

    Major :smoke:

  19. Wow! Outdoor plants are looking bushy as fuck and those are some hairy frosty looking flowers on the indoor. If they already look that fat already I can't even imagine how plump those colas will get with another month of flower!! oh and I wouldn't worry too much about the bugs unless they start taking full fan leafs. At that size those plants will be fine overcoming it.

  20. Thanks my friend! :D I'm really hoping they fatten up some more, that would be great. Thanks for the heads up on the outdoor plants though, the only one that I have any real concern with is the Grapefruit, she almost lost one small fan, but that's it, so not too worried.
Thanks again man, glad to have you along for the ride.
