I have a nutrient pack with everything in it i need for a grow or two.. The grow chart refers to week 1, week 2 etc.. This may sound silly, but does week 1 mean as soon as the seed sprouts I starting adding nutrients?? Should I wait for my seedlings to be about 2 weeks old before I start adding nutrients?? And when I start adding nutrients then, is that week 1????
Well, sense they list the first week at 1000ppm, I would say that is not a ppm setting for a seedling.. Thus I personally would wait until the first set of serrated blade leaves have fully formed and it's starting on it's second set.. Depending on strain and grow conditions, usually within the two weeks.. But it's weird they start at 1000ppm for such a young plant.. In my personal opinion, that is WAY to high for a plant that young... Watch for any signs for nute burn..
I would do half for another week, should put you around 500ppm which should be fine for a 1-2 week old baby..
Another question, just use nutrients at half strength for a week then follow the chart? Also, how often do you think I need to water them?
Hydroclay balls and coco peat is the growing medium used.. I have a 600w air cooled metal halide inside a grow tent, carbon filter, exhaust and inlet fans, No watering system yet.. watering manually
Coco peat fiber?? So you have a block of Coco peat setting on top of hydroton?? Can you post a pic of your system???
if you looked up the cyco platinum series site, there is a pic of the stuff i'm using up the top green and white bag
Wow dude, I'm not sure because coco coir holds water kind of soil would, but hydroton (Hydroclay balls as you call them) drain fast... You want to allow the coco to slightly dry before watering it again, it is so easy to over water using coco.. The time between waterings depends on environment and plant's uptake.. Some people have to water every day, while some don't have to water for a couple to a few days... Again, you want it to slightly dry (damp) before you give it another watering.. So I'm not sure how you have it setup, what your environment is like, the plant's water uptake rate is, and I do not want to give you the wrong information... Sorry I could not be more helpful...
coco does best when watered daily or more . I didn't believe it and suffered low yields and weird yellowing to brown shriveled and dead leafs that didn't go away until i started watering everyday. now I got fat nugs and healthy green plants. read the coco coir stickys
Ya I was not sure with coco, I personally never used it, and I did a quick search on the subject and the answers I come up with was everything from wait until it is damp, to every 3 days, to daily, to as often as hydroton... When I got done, my head was spinning... But I can say, what I get from coco use, what works for some, may not work for others.. Personally I would say, until you get a handle on it, I would let the plants tell you when they need watering.. If after an hour of lights on, they are still droopy looking, they're most likely in need of water...
