  1. i have just recently began growing in my closet, i am using a old fish tank to keep the plants in and i have a piece of wood over the lid of the fish tank, i also lined the fish tank with aluminum foil to help keep the heat in i also have a thermometer to keep track of the temperature i was wondering if anyone have any suggestions about my set up, much appreciated

  2. drainage, dirts gonna get muddy.
and u might fry them that way, it could go without the tin foil. but he tin foil also blocks light if ur doin a stealth grow.

  3. what kind of wattage do you think would be best? right now im using a 33'' light with i believe 30 watts, if i raise i lid would that help?

  4. yours system wont work with a 30 watt light you need at least 400-1000 watt high pressure sodium or metal halide light.but a 30 watt might work for just starting it out as a seedling also you need to start them of in small cups or w/e other methods you use also may i suggest using some miracle grow potting soil and you gotta drain the water out somehow its gonna get real muddy if you dont cause you gotta give emm fresh water an good light/nutes.

  5. what he said ^

  6. any suggestions on how to drain the water out? where can i get those type of lights?

  7. also i am only growing 2 or 3 plants is that lighting necessary?

  8. #1 how big is the tank
#2 u should be able to get away with ur 30 watter for a good 2 weeks. also do NOT use miracle grow soil, because they use fertilizers in there mixes which can burn your seedlings. by the way ive seen real good grows with only a 4 foot shoplight at 80 watts of flo's being used. 400-1000 watts is abig difference and while vegging your plant keep it at approximately 50 watts per square foot. but when flowering u might wanna up it too 70 watts.
If you only wanna do 3 plants, if you kept them about a foot tall, a 100-150 hps should do you from start to flowering. and if you must keep the plants in the tank, put them in pots and put about an inch of gravel on the bottom which the pots can rest on, that way ur pplants will get adequate drainage

    happy growing

    P.S.
Does anyone know wats wrong with overgrow?

  9. Overgrow has been shut down by the awesome U.S. Govt. GC is not down as it is based in a'dam. A sad loss indeed.

  10. You can use Compact Fluor. At Big Lots I saw pairs of 15 and 26 watt lights for $3 a piece. Ive actually just started my first grow with CFLs.
