I never understood that mentality man. I remember in high school I'd be going on about some kickass song and people would be like "that's old dude" as if that's a bad thing/automatic "sucks" award... usually they were talking about some song that came out like 1 year before too lol .
so, can the music god of this thread please tell me whats going to happen since i listen to old school shit, and new school shit :/ shit i mean, is that some sort of sin? sorry, i just cant stand when people don't get why there is a difference in the first place between oldschool and newschool rap, and then they go off calling it horrible music when in many cases they are just proving to have selective hearing to certain brands of people introduced to them. common? eminem? forsure, good artists. how bout we all stop judging whats good taste from bad taste, and just post the music you like where it belongs instead of making countless threads pointlessly arguing over a subject with hundreds of opinions. if you dont like the music, then go post some that you do, make a thread if one hasn't been made for the artist, that simple. sure, opinions are opinions, but this shit is going too far and bringing in too much unnecessary judgment, you guys are making rap more complicated then it really is. it.is.all.the.same.in.the.end, beats with rappers talking about what is is they do for fun, their outlook on the world, what it is they think about shit going on in the world, and what it is to be that muhfucka that you will never be. it's like, i know there is people who listen to the music for the enjoyment, but it seems like many are doing it to either catch up, get 1up, or 1 step ahead of other people, or even just because it plays on the radio, so they can fit in with the mainstream. cheers!

Okay, at the end of the day, people are going to listen to what they want to listen to, whether it's Nicky Minaj and Soulja Boy or Nas and Pac. Do I think coporate controlled music interests have kind of "bought out" hip hop and dumbed it down just a bit in terms of the radio and mainstream? Absolutely. If you haven't heard of her already you should check out Invincible. She's politically motivated, but has a pretty tough sound (Detroit sound) that reminds me of Grae sometimes. Also, yes! I wish more people listened to that golden age of hip hop. Afrika Bambaataa made some of the tightest party beats I've ever heard.
