It's really hard and annoying, I wouldn't suggest it. It wouldn't help you much anyways. Most of what you need is not in Sanskrit. If you want the epitome of dharmic religions I would look into learning gurmukhi or perhaps the Tibetan script. The Tibetans And Sikhs have some of the greatest transmissions to offer!
