helllllo,

ive never grown dope before but wanna because of the mad money i spend on it.
My buddy hooked me up with like 6 seeds tonight, 5 of em are real solid and dark.
I started germinating them in a moist paper towel and put them in a sealed plastic bag in a dark place. Tomorrow im goin on a 4 day tour with some friends and im not sure what to do. Should i check them everyday or can i leave them for a while and just make sure the paper towel is real damp? Or should i bring them with me in a box and add more water daily and check up on em till they sprout?

Also, i got some questions about the vegetative stage. wheres the best place to put em so theyll grow the fastest? i plan on moving them outdoors once theyre big enough but i can keep them inside for a while if its necessary. I heard something about using GFC's or some shit like that and that theyre just as good as the sun? Ive got a fluorescent light in my room that would do the job just fuckin right, but im not sure if its the right type of light bulb or if its powerful enough. also its probably not gonna be big enough to get enough light to all my seeds. What should i do? Im gonna attach some pics of the light and its specifications here so you guys can give me some help. anyway im real pumped about growin dope i think it will be fun as fuck i just dont wanna screw it up so im open to any tips or pointers you experienced pot farmers got.

Don't leave them in a sealed plastic bag. They need air. I've seen people use an open baggy and just lay the paper towel inside. I use a piece of tin foil and fold it in half with the paper towel inside. It keeps the moisture in, still allows air in and also blocks light.

It's not a good idea to try to prolong the germination process. The seeds need to be planted when they germinate. You can hope that they'll take longer than you do, but you should try to find someone to take care of them while you're away.

Thanks for the advice. I put them in some tin foil instead, should i keep adding more water daily? Ive got a spray bottle i can fill with water. Im trying to find someone to come look after them but its probably gonna be to short notice, ill probably bring them with me just to make sure theyre safe and being tended to.

Any tips about the vegetative stage?

I'm a complete n00b and never seen any seeds except the ones from bag - which I never really trust; anyway.. but from what I've read and from what I understand, vegetative stage is only as long as you wish to make it. Like indoors you can just grow the plant under 18/6; 20/4 or 24/0 (light/no light) lighting periods and continue to grow it as large as you wish until you force it to flower by switching it to STRICTLY 12 hours light and 12 hours NO LIGHT.

Other than that, vegetate to your hearts desire. If you're moving 'em from indoor to outdoor, once they get outdoors, everything will move to the natural cycle and they'll just continue to grow until mother nature pushes 'em to start blooming alll da dope.

You started germinating seeds just before going out of town? My serious, best advice for you is to flush them down the toilet. You've screwed up, there is no waiting or delaying with germination. Live and learn.

I'm not sure - I have not yet started an operation... I'm hoping I will one day find the nice enough people on here to donate clones and/or seeds!

3-5 days if all goes smoothly. Older seeds or ones germinated in less than ideal conditions can take 7-10 days. If they haven't opened in two weeks, they aren't going to.

Unless you're going to put them in soil while you're away that won't work either grem'd seeds should be planted when the "tail" coming out of the seed is 1/4"-1/2" longer germ may allow mold to grow on them. My suggestion is just put them in the soil before you leave, about 1/2" down in wet soil (dont pack the soil on top of them), that should be ok for them to sprout while you're gone.
