You know the drill, feel free to post anything and everything anime related. Or aspects about it that piqued your interest.

I think it's mainly because we already have 2 anime threads that get a semi regular update. One more than the other, but regardless. I'll never complain when there is an anime discussion.

Top 5 currently:
1. Suzuka
2. Shakugan no Shana
3. Black Lagoon
4. Ouran High School Host Club
5. Baccano!

Aside from the first one which only resonates with me for a personal reason, all the others aren't in an particular order. They're all series I love to death and could watch a hundred times.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm pretty big on anime. I'll watch whatever I can get my hands on, but I really lean towards the slice of life/comedy/drama stuff. I just love anime. It's incredible that cartoons can evoke a more emotional interest/attachment than a series using real actors.

I've been loving the stuff since I was about 8 years old and here I am 12 years later with an even heavier interest than before.

I just watched Time of EVE. It's a pretty fantastic film that I'd recommend to all who haven't seen it. It's one of the most (if not the most) visually striking anime films I've ever seen. Here's a screenshot of an exterior scene:

GITS:SAC 1st & 2nd GIG
FLCL
NGE
FMA: Brotherhood (NOT the original series)
Code Geass <--- Fucking amazing
Steins;Gate <--- Only 8 eps out but pretty good so far, and funny
Elfen Lied
Most (if not all) movies by Studio Ghilbi
Toaru Majutsu No Index
Eureka Seven <--- Another great fucking series
5 Centimeters Per Second (and anything by Makoto Shinkai)
Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ (aka Phantom of Inferno)
Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail <--- Classic shows but kinda gay because they have fillers =/
D.N.Angel <--- Another good one :D

I've been reading a lot of manga recently so I've cut back a little on the anime lol. And these are just a few series off the top of my head that I liked a lot.

And nice thread FadedSkies :D

EDIT: I like psychological thrillers a lot (kinda like NGE) and I heard Gilgamesh and Ergo Proxy are pretty good. Anyone seen them?

The only Studio Ghibli film I didn't like was My Neighbor the Yamadas. The animation and story just weren't all that great. Everything else from the studio has been gold.

Also, I didn't Ergo Proxy. Don't take my word for it though. It's just not my kind of style. I'm not generally into the action thriller genre. So I'm sure you'll probably like it if that's you're genre. It was well done.

Right now I'm big on anime movie kick. In the last couple days I've watched or re-watched:
Grave of the Fireflies
5 Centimeters a Second
Time of EVE
Perfect Blue
Tales of Earthsea

Thank you very much! I'll check these our after some sleep. Also what's with people hating on Death Note? It's one of my favorite animes. Had a good and to my knowledge original story, great characters, was a very different anime to say the least. Only thing i didn't like was it lacked in action.

Before i go, i'll leave a present:D

Death Note didn't work for me. I just kind of found it boring and predictable. Also, it's not so much the anime that really turns me away from it anymore, it's the big fans.

It happens so much in anime though. Die hard fans go all out. They get angry if you don't like their shows and constantly get angry if you question them on anything. Like if you tell them an English dubbed version of the show takes away from the authenticity and reflects poorly on the setting of the series, they'll go into a fit (even though they've never watched the subbed because they want to hear English only). It's actually kind of fun.

Just my two cents though. Usually fans ruin shows more than the show itself.
