Ive studied and researched the Marijuana herb for a couple years now, heres what i learned.
There are many aspects to this drug. "Many" being an understatement. I am going to attempt to divide it into 3 groups. The three main categories to learn from are Medical/Scientifical, Political/Industrial, and Historical. Theres also Religious, but that area is so simple and short that i will only mention it throughout.
I have learned everything from unbiased, intelligent sources including famous biologists, doctors, and scientists who have studied this for decades and know the truth. if you wish for sources, message me.
(Just so its clear, ive written all of this from my own words and knowledge, i didnt take any Google copy and paste breaks. This knowledge has been learned and memorized from years of studying)
I wrote and finished this in about 2 hours. Its worth saving the time instead of repeating myself to many people.
Medical
This is the most important simply because it starts off by ending any and all lies and myths about Cannabis that have been forced for over 70 years. And people are finally starting to realize the truth. Im going to start by listing myths about this drug
1. MYTH, Marijuana kills braincells
FACT, Marijuana does kill some braincells, but the only braincells that it ever kills are Cancer braincells. We dont really need those do we? In fact, other than killing Cancer braincells, Cannabis does quite the opposite to your brain. Unbiased, legitimate studies show much evidence that Marijuana actually promotes braincell growth and prevents deterioration in the cells. An example of one of these studies would be Xia Zhang of the University of Saskatchewan. He and some of his colleagues decided to see what effects a synthetic cannabinoid named HU210 had on rats' brains.
They found that giving rats high doses of HU210 twice a day for 10 days increased the rate of nerve cell formation, or neurogenesis, in the hippocampus by about 40%.
The results show that marijuana, or its derivatives, could actually be good for the brain.
"But how can this be? my school said..." We will get to that later, in the Political section. Get comfy, this is a long read.
2. MYTH, Marijuana causes lung cancer, and does horrible damage to them
FACT, Marijuana does none of these things, smoke does this. and now that weve explained that it actually prevents cancer, lets see why it causes little to no damage to your lungs. What you have to look at is what essentially in smoke hurts you. Carcinogens, particulates, tar, and severel other nasty little things. Cannabis smoke actually has been shown to have the least of all these in comparison to most other smoke types. Smoking Marijuana is virtually harmless but even if you disagree with smoke, thats not the only way to partake it. you can consume it, vaporize it, etc. theres several other ways, including using a bong to smoke it which takes out any remaining nasties in the smoke.
3. MYTH, Marijuana kills hundreds upon thousands a year, its a harmful drug.
FACT, Do some googling and try to find anyone who has ever died from smoking or taking Marijuana in any kind of form. If you find anyone, i will renounce everything i say here. Truth is, Cannabis has ZERO recorded deaths. Ever. There has never been a recorded death in our entire history from Marijuana. Any deaths where people were smoking Marijuana, were also under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs. Basically, Pot cannot, and will not kill you.
Whereas Cigarettes, Alcohol, even caffeine (which is all legal), causes hundreds of thousands of deaths a year.
4. MYTH, Marijuana WILL make you a lazy unproductive member of society.
FACT, For most people, Marijuana at the end of that stressful day is the biggest motivation to get work done. Secondly about 80% of Marijuana users are straight A students, Pro athelites, and university goers. The truth is Marijuana promotes brain cell growth, and therefore makes you smarter, sharper, and able to think about things through many different angles and perspectives than you were ever able to before.

Many of our successful polotitions and governors have admitted to smoking Marijuana
BIBLE TIME
And finally, people in the bible. There are scriptures where God has instructed people to make holy oil and lotion, one of the main ingredients being Marijuana. Obviously, its not un-Christian to partake in cannabis. theres actually a whole biblical aspect with many interesting verses referring to Marijuana, not one of them talking about it as unchristlike or immoral. After much reading i strongly believe Cannabis was a God given herb and should be shown to the christian community for what it really is.
Even Adolf Hitler, one of the most successful and knowledgeable dictators of our time, once said "Its not too hard to make even Heaven, look like Hell" The exact same goes for propaganda and the lies used to keep Marijuana under the carpet. 5. MYTH, When your high, your out of control, unable to do what you would normally be able to do, and violent.
FACT, Stop watching movies and television. The truth is the majority of people who use Marijuana are perfectly capable of doing just about everything they were able to do before, Sometimes better than before. And it does not make you violent, but instead quite the opposite. Its not like Alcohol (which is legal) where you drive home, almost crash, beat your wife and then beat your children, then wake up in the morning not remembering anything you did. When it comes to Marijuana you just need to be responsible, just like every other drug, although Cannabis being the least harmful.
Last one,
MYTH, Marijuana is a gateway drug.
FACT, This theory ticks me off more than you can imagine. Its what all the ignorant anti drug people always hide behind when they have nothing else left to bring to the table. The truth is Marijuana is none addictive, not dangerous, and does NOT make you want to go ruin your life with Heroin and Cocain. Less than 5% of people who use Cannabis ever do move on to life threatening drugs. Using this theory, you could say "Milk causes people to move on to alcohol, because everyone who drinks alcohol started out with milk" Ignorance. Please drop the gateway theory in your arguments because honestly they make you look uneducated.
The truth is Marijuana treats and cures over 250 medical conditions, including Cancer (cures), Alzheimer's Disease (cures), Arthritis, Asthma, Depression, Just about any kind of pain, Epilepsy, PMS (giggle giggle) Glaucoma, Acid Reflux Disease, insomnia, Autism, Diabetes, Hepatitis, and many MANY more.
Marijuana, when looking at the facts, you will find is the least harmful, most helpful medicinal herb and literally could be taken like a daily vitamin would be taken."WHY then would we not be using this instead of other less useful medicins for everything? if its so helpful why arent we using it?" I WILL get to that, like i said, Political and industrial section.
There are so many people in desperate need of this medicine, people dying from Cancer, people forgetting who they are and who they love with Alzheimer's, and nothing can be done for them because Marijuana is illegal. Why? Read on
Political and Industrial
Ahh where to start. Well to begin with i am going to tell you what would happen if we were to legalize it.
In California, where Cannabis is most widely used in America, the cash crop of Marijuana is raking in approximately 60 million a year. And its not even legal. Infact Marijuana is our highest money making cash crop in America, its like growing Gold, and in a couple months time per harvest.
Marijuana is one of the fastest growing plants out there and can even be grown into a full thriving plant in a matter of weeks. How much money would we start putting towards this national 3 trillion dollar debt if Marijuana was legalized? Approximately 7 Billion. Yearly. And thats just an estimate.
Now that number wasnt even from Marijuana alone. Theres two kinds of Cannabis, potency wise. The kind with THC (gives you the medicinal effects and the high) and the kind without the THC. This is called Hemp. Hemp makes over 10,000 products and is the best quality, most ecofriendly, and cheapest material of its kind.
Hemp can make a LARGE range of things including paper, clothing and fabric, food, medicine, Gas and bio Diesel (it would cost you MAYBE 10 bucks to fill up your car tank using this) plastic, even a special material that would act like wood to build houses with.
Henry Ford actually made an entire car out of hemp, and ran it on hemp gas
Our Deceleration of Independence was written on Hemp paper. Most of anything made from Hemp lasts much longer, is biodegradable, and better quality product.
Just one acre of easy to grow hemp would equal to 3 acres of trees that took hundreds of years to grow.
Just one acre of hemp would equal to 3 mining sites digging up oil and resources that took hundreds of years to make.
Just one acre of hemp would equal to two acres of cotton (and 50% of the worlds pesticides are used on cotton)
Make this world about a billion times more echo friendly and stop ruining it by cutting down our forests and exhausting every last fuel and energy source we have from the ground. Legalize Marijuana and Hemp. Make this world a better place.
Ive mostly covered industrial so far, and the reason Political and Industrial aspects are in the same place are because they tie in together pretty closely.
Why is it illegal?
Several reasons. industrially, its because of all the companies that would lose money and crash and burn if it were to be legalized. You kno who one of the highest donaters of the drug war are? Tobacco companies. they dont want it getting out that Marijuana is the healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes or theyd be ruined.
Paper companies would fall, People who get specially paid to hunt down Marijuana users to send to jail, some food companies, clothing companies, even drug dealers dont want it legal. theyd be out of business. Pharmaceutical companies would fall (because they cant patent a plant and call it sell-able medicine. Its too easy for people to ditch their useless expensive medicine products and grow their "Every medicine" in their backyard for pennies)
Weve covered the fact that huge companies everywhere would lose crash if Marijuana somehow competed with them, and new, more environmentally friendly companies would rise up and take their place. But why else is Cannabis illegal?
Well theres an explanation as to how it all started but its historical, so it will remain in the historical section.
The reason is isnt legal today at this very moment is simple, yet stupid. One, the companies and jails that would lose profit. I mean, we literally profit off of putting people in jail for Marijuana, we jail 30% of our country. Its sad. Murderers and Rapists dont have room to go to jail cuz they need room for all the teenagers and innocent people who need medical attention but have no way of getting it unless they break the law.
But other reasons are simply because this has been almost a century old war on drugs. And the older people running this country were raised to believe that Marijuana is just as bad as any other schedule 1 drug. and since weve only had about 2 decades of realizing the truth, the older generation refuses to believe it or listen.
However, that generation IS dying out, and almost 50% of Americans now believe that we should legalize Pot. You can make as many jokes as you want about "what this is saying about my generation" but what its really saying is we like to look into things for ourselves to learn, instead of letting the government fill our heads with lies and believe it. I DO NOT think LSD is bad because mommy and daddy told me it was bad, i think its bad because i actually read up on it for myself and learned the terrible effects it has on you.
Marijuana is estimated to become federally, nationwide legal again within the next 10 years. if chances are good even within the next two years. All depends on our next presidential election.
I personally dont think any drugs should be illegal. Even tho i dont support any of them besides Marijuana, Which is 90% of what this drug war is fighting anyways, i dont think you should arrest someone for putting things in their body and not harming anyone. You should have the right to do whatever you want with your body. But turning on the wrong path and getting strung out on meth shouldnt be cause to go to jail the rest of your life.. thats ludicras. What we should do is give them help, send them to clinics, rehabilitation centers. Instead of spending billions yearly to make more prisons for these people, we should spend that money on building hospitals and clinics and getting them HELP. Once a person is convited of drugs they cant live their life the way they wanted to, even if they were rehabilitated. can get a job, cant go to school, cant go in the army. they dont need a jail cell. they need an emergency room.
If we legalized Marijuana, it would put an end to this useless drug war, which has killed thousands and wasted billions of your tax dollars.
If we legalized Marijuana, even if you still think Marijuana is bad for you, it would keep it out of the hands of children. If we leave it up to the drug dealers, its literally easier to get ahold of than alcohol. if we legalize it and regulate it, we wont have to worry about people using it that shouldnt be using it.
If we legalized Marijuana, the unemployment rate would decline drastically, opening thousands of new jobs for people who desperately need it.
If we legalized Marijuana, we would drop crime drastically, we would become a more peaceful country, we would get ourselves out of this disgusting national debt, we would save thousands of medical patient's lives, be able to research it even further and find even more medical uses for it, and we would help keep our world green and unpolluted.
Historical
Okay so heres why its illegal in the first place. (There are many theories, but this is what ive read and makes the most sense) There was this guy way back in the 1950's/60's (i cant remember his name, it was long) who really wanted to pass sum ballot and get himself higher in government. So what he did that made him stand out from everyone was else was start campaigning that Marijuana makes people crazy, violent, and out of control. He is what got the ball rolling on this war on drugs.
Ofcourse at the time nobody knew or cared about wat was going to happen to the future of Marijuana, believed him, and got him the position in government he wanted. but it didnt end there, he decided to take it even more steps further and get it illegal to own without some special tax card, which nobody in the government was printing at the time. so basically illegal to own period. Presidents from Nixon to Bush went along with whatever this guy said and carried on his legacy by starting, and enforcing the "War on Drugs" burning through billions of tax dollars. This guy then was given the position of allowing certain educational videos into our schools that sent the message he wanted to send. if something talked about how Marijuana wasnt bad, it didnt make it to our schools. otherwise that would have hindered his position. This is why you will hear lots of interesting, yet untrue garbage when you take health class in school.
One of the things our government told us was how it made people violent and outta control. but WW2 came around and they realized the truth, that it did the opposite and made you calm and peaceful, open minded. So the next campaign to keep it illegal was telling everyone how soft it made you and how we didnt want our troops to fall short in battle. so we kept it illegal for the exact opposite reason it was illegal in the first place. makes sense right?
But prohibition, my friends, simply dosnt work. look at alcohol when it was made illegal, rioting was everywhere and people created organized crime. Eventually a group of people had got together and started something called the Mafia.
Anyways theres more detail to how it all started with Marijuana prohibition but im very tired of typing. Basically, it all started with lies and greed. and has continued illegal for that very reason.
As of any other History, Cannabis has a very long range of history that full of interesting, rich culture. Its been used for centuries, even in biblical times, Its been used by kings, presidents, philosophers and many amazing people. Its not hard to find a youtube video on its rich history if you have time to go look (obviously u have lots of time if u read all this)
What we essentially have here is a beautiful culture, full of beautiful people with an incredible common interest and understanding, and im proud to be a part of it. I was lucky enough to be blessed with a brain that has the capability to go out and learn things on my own and i hope you will do the same.

Whether you chose to believe anything ive said or not, Marijuana IS becoming more and more mainstream, and it's a reality you will have to face eventually. Hopefully, you will be lucky enough to understand and be part of its culture.
