First Grow with Hempy Buckets

Perlite/Vermiculite (3:1)

Had a few snags, hopefully the pH is fixed now... http://forum.grassci...-need-help.html
(thats why the guy in back middle of pic 2 is skimpy looking LOL)

Im using around 360w with about 1/2 & 1/2 full spectrums and white lights
Lights hang around 8 inches above the plants from homemade hanging setup

Nutes per box recommendations (Flora Series nutes, general hydroponics)

I water these guys about every 2 days (Nutes, H2O, Nutes, H2O, repeat)

Tried a little LST, not much luck so far.

Temperature stays about 75-85 F, Humidity ranges 55-75% depending on days

Right now they're on day 17!!

What y'all think?????

Its pretty easy. Just transplant them into buckets after theyre big enough, drill a hole 2 inches from the bottom and water every 2-3 days. The extra water just runs out of the hole. Soil is perlite/vermiculite mixed 3:1 ratio. Like I said this is my first grow, so we'll see how good it works...

There are plenty of Hempy Bucket forums on here, just look around

Ill keep this thread updated periodically with new pics, Enjoy

Seen Hempys that are 16oz cups with the plant in it that they cut the bottom 1/3 off. Then they plant the entire cup in a bigger 1-5 gallon pot with the same 3:1 an leave half the cup above the 1-5 gallon soil line. Said to help diminsih root stress during the transplant.

looks good so far. the only thing I can see that could be a problem is your RH, 75% is pretty high, you are inviting mold and pests. during veg it is not as much of a problem, but some strains can still be touchy. When you switch to flowering you don't want the RH over 60%(below 50, even better) or your already moister laden buds will mold.

What size buckets are you moving these into? I'm planning a SOG hempy style for my nearly completed cabinet, so I'm interested in your outcome. Thanks in advance.

I'll move them into 5gal buckets next.
Still not sure if these are male/female but hopefully at least 4 of the 8 will be fems...

They're taking off!!!
I seriously think they grew an inch overnight. HPS FTW!

Plus the humidity stays right at 50% from the heat off the light, its great

The only downside is that I had to put blankets over my windows, its soooo bright

Could these be indica? Got bag seeds from a friend and have no idea what they are. Leaves are dark green with hint of purple. Plants seem to be growing out, not up.

I grow hempy start them in 16oz cups and move them to 3 gallon buckets. I only use perlite with hydroton at the bottom two inches.

Skip using a 5 gallon buckets its overkill and they will take longer to reach the bottom I have seen 6 footers in 3 gallons that wern't root bound. The original master hempy himself used 2 gallons and would pull 5oz off them.

Right now im experimenting with osmocote plus time release ferts mixed in the perlite all u do is water them and they wont ever get nute burn.

3 gallons are a good idea, thanks.

So do indicas need any special care? Or just grow them like sativas?
