Grapes

Anyone grown grapes? I've got a blind dog's chance of getting this right atm and can't find much reliable info online so far.

I inherited 3 vine cuttings a year ago and they're starting to do their thang. Want me some vino so need me some advice.

I need wires I think?
Do they like food?
Do i cut them back every year or do they stay big?
Can I squidge them with mah toes?
When will my wine be ready?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

my mom used to grow them when i was a kid.. more for the leaves than the grapes (although the grapes were pretty tasty)

you need lotsa sun for good wine making grapes.. and yeagh you have to cut them back in the winter

I can't imagine how good dolmas would taste with fresh grape leaves. Enjoy!

But the leaves need to be prepared first

My grandmother is Turkish and makes me them with stuffed peppers
In a spicy tomatto sauce. And yougurt on the side

My mum is not a big feeder and she got lost of grapes every year after the first year or two...

If you don't cut them back they will get beyond huge...fine if you have the room...look for at least a few feet growth a year...

Always had a hard time getting to the grapes on time as birds, squirrels, and especially hornets loves them...just a warning...

Honestly...she started them about 20 years ago, so my senile brain may be wrong...

Nah...no stomping, but the mental picture is making me laugh...

She cooked them...somehow...and made the worlds best grape juice...the whole process is a mystery to me...she made jelly with them also...

Hornets and wasps are similar...most people don't differentiate between them...hornets are generally meaner though...
