So Ive listened to Woodie my whole life and I havent read anything about him here on GC so I thought I would write something and share an important part of my life to yall. Woodie in my opinion was the best rapper alive but only because I can relate to him and I can feel the emotion and pain in his music. He was a rapper and a producer, and started his own music label by putting up his skylark for collateral. He was from Antioch Ca. and is widely known in Northern and central Cali to this day. Woodie turned to rap after his best friend was shot and another was falsly imprisoned. Woodie was involved with gangs and accepted by his 'homies' even though he was a 'whiteboy'. Ryan did time for attempted murder, and when he got out dedicated himself to making music and eventually signed to Koch Records. Woodie dropped many albums over the next few years rapping about whats real here in these Cali streets and paved the way for many other artists in his circle. If you dig real shit then check it out. On March, 7, 2007 Woodie was pronounced dead from a self inflicted gun shot to the head. Many believe he is still alive today as there was no death records, others believe it was a gang murder setup to look like a suicide, and others claim that Woodie was silenced by the Illuminati after he started rapping about politics and putting them on blast. I was DJ'ing at a friends crib up in harlem and i was just like "West coast time" played as much west coast shit that i knew.. i wish i could of played some of this, real talk. And im guessin from the pictures and the comments he was reppin a Norteno set In nyc we dont have anything like that but alot of surenos gangs that popped up in CA are making there mark in a few boroughs over here.(not harlem tho lol)random comment but yeah w/e.

I was out there about 6 months ago on buisness and I visited a homeboy. And thats trippy about the surenos out there, those fools are worldwide and theyre even showing up in numbers around here lately but its quality not quantity as they say.

For reals man you never know what really went down. But he did get jacked (jewelry etc) right before or after it happened and it was done with a gauge. Who can have arms long enough? He def coulda started an uprising and he pretty much did.
