Subb'd in. I've never hydro'd. This should be a fun grow to watch. Nice setup to maintain the humidity too. Someone have an engineering degree? Hehe.

Thank you guys.
I'll wait for few days before firing up 600W MH light. I just want my plants to get little bit stronger.

get you a couple cfl's and sit them right on top of those ladies for about 10 days ,if you fire up that hps on em this young you'll cook em.i would start with about an hour on day one 4 the day after than 12 let them get use to that bright light.:smoke:

ah shit just went back and looked at your setup again just leave that cfl on them for a good 10 days you'll be happier with the end results, but would still add the hps a little at a time.

I think if temperature level is ok then MH should not harm those plants. But again they are so small at the moment so blasting full 600W would be more than they need at this stage.I have dimmable ballast, so I guess I can try to set it up for 300W for couple of days, then 400W and then 600W....I do not know, I might blast the full 600W right away with in few days.(temp difference in the grow tent between 600W and 400W is only +3F but 30% loss of lumen)

dimmable ballasts are the shit!!! but curious as to why your going with a mh instead of hps? or do you plan on buying hps before bloom time? the mh are great for veg but need that red to bloom under.

MH only for veg stage. I'll change the bulb to HPS during the flowering stage. I have heard that if you start your flowering under MH (for 2 weeks) it will keep plants shorter than normal. I might try that in the future.

right on figured as much. yeah the mh keep,em squat also you could add couple small cfl's in the blue spectrum while your running the hps to keep the stretching down i am going to have the same problem as only working in a 4 ft overall height area ,i've only got 24 inches from top of buckets to the bottom of a 1000 watter :/
