What are you talking about? Theres a billion hip hop threads in there.......theres simply few people who don't enjoy it in threads....like you and the soulja boy thread....so since you hate on that...... that means you hate hip hop?

I listen to what I like, which happens to be rap music. Real rap that is, not pop music. I mean rap that is the voice of the bottom of society, not rap that is the voice of the wealthy pricks that all get signed by the same corporations. I have no connection with them. It's actually more of a poetic thing than a musical thing to me.

Having said that, my taste in music does not show in the way I act. I don't wear baggy jeans and I don't throw up hand signs. To me that has nothing to do with music. Rap has only influenced the way I think, not the way I act.

I think acting in a certain way to convey to others what kind of music you like is immature, whether you're acting like a careless thug or a depressed devil-worshipper. Just be yourself and don't let any subculture define you. That's how I try to live.

 

Why do people get offended when someone hates on their music. When will people learn. Music is about what YOU like, and thats all that matters. Thats why there are so many different kinds of music. I am a teen from the 80's. I love hard riffing guitars, melodic chorus hooks, and just general hard rock in general. When i hear a song I love, I think to myself, how could someone not like this if I played it for them? Truth is, if its a younger person, that is into rap or hip-hop, they won't "get" it, not at all. Because its not their generation, and its not something that appeals to them. But I don't get offended by that.

To the OP, just a couple of things to consider.
1. There are people of all ages here, so there will be lots not into hip-hop or rap. I am one of them, but I don't hate on it.
2. People are always more willing to type negative stuff out there, for some reason, humans seem to like focusing more on the negative aspect of something, then the positive, at least on internet forums.
3. Some people just love to hate on everything. I see a lot of hate towards the word "hippie" on this site from younger folk. And they have their strict defined meaning of the word, and they have actual hate towards people they think fit in this category. I don't get it. I am not a hippie, but how could you harbor hate to something that stands for peace and love? Dunno, but it happens at this place every damn hour.

If the music appeals to you, it is for you, you feel a connection to it. The reason why others choose to hate on it (Wrong or right) is because they do not connect to it, plain and simple. Now me, I can respect it for what it is, and still not like it, I don't have to hate on it. But some people love to have their hatred heard by others. Just ignore it, and move on.

Music is for the soul. So let it fill your soul with happiness, and just hope the haters get to feel what music can do for the soul one day.

Thats just the way people think then....sorry but you can not change that. They see a canadian white boy rapping so instantly they think what they want...maybe he's been dismissed by his race so he went the other way or hes just a white boy who wants to be cool......Just be who you are and don't change for anyone.

unless its rap from the 90's or under its probably gona get hated on by me. why you ask? ill tell you why! talent...... there is barely any talent in hip-hop today(keyword barely). most who are good dont get a chance to be good because the music bizz has no concern for talent but $$$$$$

I love rap. It's what I've been listening to since I developed any kind of musical taste. The thing is, it has only changed the way I think, not the way I outwardly act or appear. I even write but I don't tell people or post on here or anything, I just spit it over beats when I'm alone. What I'm saying is that if you get this "G" comment often, you must come across as a "wigger" to some degree.

How hard is it to figure out why people generalize rap listeners man? The lyrics are "kill, kill, kill, murda, murda, murda." Sure Pink Floyd songs sound like LSD but they don't directly reference the drug.

 

All this mainstream shit gives hip hop a bad name. It's fine if you listen you Wiz but running around saying "taylor gang or die!" just makes you look like a bunch of aragont pricks. I listen to underground/old school hip hop simply because I think it sounds better than all this mainstream junk out nowdays.

Everybody has their own taste of music. That was back when it accually takes skill to produce a dope track insted of just auto- tuning your voice.

 

most of the people here are probably kids who dont really even smoke anyways, so its okay for most of the people here to be haters.
stoners are supposed to be really chill people. some people here are pretty cool, and there are some cool threads and stuff, but gosh stop the hating.

And why do u care what people type online? We all know the haters that type, would never hate like that in real life, cause they would get beat down., Anonymous hate means nothing. Its just words from kids looking for a reaction.
