Portable/Window AC units

  1. I am considering using an AC unit in my tent. I have CO2 enrichment. Question is, if I use the AC unit, will this pull the CO2 enriched air and expel it outside the tent? Will it keep everything contained?

  2. In a tent it just may push quite a bit out depending on the size of the tent and how well it is sealed. Also the back of the window AC would need to be pointing outside of the tent, they do blow alot of hot air out the back from the heat generated by the unit, thats why most tent set ups I have seen they use portable AC`s with exhaust hoses venting outside of the tent. I have a window AC in my grow room that vents outside of the house and one in my bedroom and if you stand behind it outside you can defintely feel the hot air.

  3. I would be getting a portable one with the ducting. The tent is 8x4x8 and is sealed pretty well. My main question is whether or not the heated exhaust is air from the actual room. Does the unit contain the CO2 enriched air within the tent?

  4. no...it will expell the co2:smoke:unless it has a recirculate function;)

  5. So how do people with CO2 enrichment keep their temps and humidity down without just running through CO2 very quickly? The dehumidifier I put in there helped a tiny bit with humidity, but put off way too much heat...pushing me into the mid 90's.

  6. i think most people suppliment with co2 because of high temps:confused:

  7. I am pretty sure CO2 supplementation is used for the benefit of yield, not for the coping of high temperatures. It is just an added bonus that they can withstand the higher temps. Does anyone have experience with this? Specifically, is someone using a CO2 controller in addition to an AC unit and experiencing average CO2 usage, not just wasting it with the AC unit pumping it out of the grow area?

  8. Anybody have any other input?

  9. There are single and dual hose models when it comes to portable air conditioners. The single hose models pull air from around the a/c unit (air in your grow room) to cool the condenser(?) and exhaust the hot air out the single hose. On dual hose models, there is an intake hose that you place outside of your grow room that pulls air to cool the condenser and exhausts the hot air back outside of your grow room. A dual hose model is what you want.
