Recently went through and added all photos to GC

Hey y'all, this is hopefully the beginning to a lengthy and successful grow log! This is not exactly my first time growing, but it is my first time growing from a seed.

The Info:I purchased 4 seeds from my buddy, spent 15 bucks for them, but i could not find any for the life of me. He said that 2 of them were possibly feminized, and the others he was not sure. Called them Purple Frost... whatever.

In the Beginning I was unsure, and somewhat wary of my methods to germinate these seeds. I was nervous of the napkin drying out, or over watering it and wasting the seeds that were hard for me to get. Instead, i decided to soak them in distiled water overnight, and the next afternoon i put them in my medium, seeding soil. This was about a day and a half ago.

Waiting to sprout It is coming up on 38 hours now, and they still have not broken the surface. Given I DID NOT germinate them, I figure it may take a few days to see a sprout.

SetupBelow is pictures of my set up until i get a sprout. I am not feeling to get too financial about this until i can actually sprout (I have only started from clones, which i was able to grow almost to flowering before handing them over to my uncle.)

UPDATE We have sproutage. After 3 days keeping them warm enough and letting them be, they took root and seem to be coming along nicely.
I also changed my setup just a little bit, they will probably be in here for another 2 weeks until i can afford my official box. Until then, this is what I am working with: Currently running 3 26watt/1650lumen Soft White bulbs. I will be replacing one of the ones connected to the "Y" Splitter with a 30watt/2100lumen Bright White bulb for vegging.

So today i was able to build my new box that i will be using for the next little bit here. Got the box from U-Haul, it was the perfect size for a small enclosed space to keep the babies warm in for the time being. Here are some pictures of the box i made. I painted the inside flat white, and temps are a little warm, but i think its ok for sprouting, i will work on getting my temps down during veg. Here's what ive got so far. I know you like my Little Mermaid Mercury Temp Reader :hello:

Day 12 Have had a lot of problems with this soil, and up until this point have not been able to get a pH reading, or anything. But i did learned it was way off with the shitty walmart brand soil i was using. Thus far, very little growth, and almost lost hope that these seeds were going to make it. Green growth, but very little, and especially small for almost 2 weeks old.

your using softwhite cfls? you should be using daylight, at 6500k or 6700k. that could explain the slow growth.

Day 14
Lighting: CFL's - 4x21w 2500k and 4x26w 6700k, 4 inchs from tops. 188w at about 12,800 lum.
GrowBox: found a 24x20wide cardboard box that i painted all white. Height is from 2.5-5ft, so they have room to grow. The box can also be opened for fresh air, and closed and ventilated.
Temps at lights off are around 65-70, lights on 80-85, which im ok with. But at night with the closet doors closed im sitting at about 90F for like 7 hours, that i am NOT ok with.

The last 2 pics are my kitty trying to help me edit this thread lol:p

Day 19 Finally after 2 weeks of sitting in the worlds shittiest soil (i would protest in front of Walmart about how shitty the soil is) i was able to get them in something decent.
Soil: Grower's Proffesional + Perlite
Nutes: Fox Farms Big Bloom(entire cycle, will discuss dosage), Fox Farm Tiger Bloom(flowering)

Now they are looking very healthy. I had to take a risk and 15 days in repot the whole rootball into my GroPro soil, due to high pH levels, and nute lockout. Luckily, I was able to do it successfully on all 3 plants, and after 2 days of shock, they took a liking to it. After 20 days, I started them on there first dose of FF Big Bloom. Starting out on 1/4 strength, the next morning, I could definitely tell they liked the stuff. So this is up to date as it gets for the moment, in about 3 hours is lights on.
I tried fimming one of them, and the other 2, i will be leaving alone for now. Might LST them later.

Day 21 Now we're talkin, finally got some growth:hello:. After keeping stable conditions, they seem to be taking to it very well. pH is at 6.5-6.8, Temps are 70F lights off, 82F lights on(mid day), 90F for 6 hours while i sleep(until i can fix). The temp sits at about 91F for maybe 6 hours during the night time with the closet closed, as i have no way of venting fresh air in there with it closed, so will have to figure out what to do with that. I need to look into one of those Cold Air Humidifiers, they run around 25 bucks at Sears.
Here are some picture updates.
The big one (i hope its a girl, im afraid though because its growing so fast.

Question: Can i switch my little schedule to fix the heating issue? The plants are at 21 days, and lights off is 3pm-9pm, lights on 9pm-3pm. I thought it would be cooler at night, but with the door closed... its not. So i was wondering if it would totally fuck my plants if i tried switching the lights around so i can have the door open when they are on during the day, and closed at night. Would changing the light cycle by 8 hours effect them more than the heat will?

Day 23 The main stem is finally looking very green, and overall the new growth seems to be very healthy. Not much changes guys, just posting everything that i have collected thus far, and this is where i am at today. So updates from now will be a little slower as i was just making up for the month.

Again this is up-to-date now, and wont be having 6 updates in 1 day again lol. All comments are greatly appreciated, and this last post is current 3/11/11. Also a shot from shortest to tallest, and current setup.

I didn't know you could do that. i will make sure to use the site from now on.

I suppose i can add a little bit of an update while im at it. Changed the light cycle by 6 hours due to heat, hoping this will reduce my heat considerably at night time.

Thanks for the heads up, i have been keeping a very close eye on my dosages with Big Bloom, and only started at 1 tbs, recommended is 4 tbs. So for 1 week, every other water(i water once every 2 days right now, as needed)they get the 1/4 strength, and every week i will increase by 1/4 until i can see what the plant can take.

I will add some more pictures soon, not too much to add right now. I did spot one of the top leaves had the end piece missing and found it in the soil, i didnt see any bugs, but will be keeping an eye on this.

Day 24 Today i really just wanted to put this up mostly as a huge thanks to the boards for showing me how to properly fim my plant. Huge growth after only 30 hours on day 5 of the fimming.
Last night was my switch when i had the lights on for 24 hours, and then 6 hours off to switch the schedule to adjust my heats, it seems to have worked well.

These shots are taken day 19, day 23, and day 24.
