I saw this on a NatGeo program called 'Naked Science', a book called the Voynich Manuscript, a book that cannot at all be read or deciphered. It was created in the early 15th century with herbal, astronomical and cosmolgical illustrations and description in this unknown language. I'm still looking into more information about it. For all my fellow blades Here is it's wikipedia article: Voynich manuscript - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And here is the entire book page by page (click the pages 2 or 3 times for a close look): Voynich manuscript - Wikimedia Commons I figure maybe a few ganja smokers could crack it while lifted.
I know right. I definitely wanna know whats on this page (wikipedia commons reference): f85v1, f86v2,r3,r4,r5,r6 (Special folios)
It looks like it is written backwards... like mirror image. weird. Wikipedia says it's for sure written left to right though... this thing really is incredible. EDIT: so weird... a lot of words are repeated, the weird LL type thing is in almost every word... maybe some insane person wrote this? It's very ominous looking haha
I'm thinking we should get a copy of this manuscript and get the finest minds that this forum can gather to solve this mystery. And what page was that OP? EDIT: I see the OP posted a link that includes all pages. I found another site that has it in PDF format. http://awesta.sibirjak.ru/files/Voynich.pdf but it takes a while to load.
@ismoke ya i did notice the repition of words and the H looking symbol is used a lot as well @southpark Its the page with the 9 connected circles, i wonder what could it be and that idea isn't to shabby at all.
The thing is... I've seen that symbol before, but for the life of me I can't remember where! I think it's a scientific abbreviation or something like that, but hardly any of those would have been around in the 1400's.. wow I want to know what this is so bad now haha
It was actually created sometime between 1405 & 1438, but whoever the author is, well if he/she wanted people today to decode this enigma
It's obviously an entirely different alphabet, completely different than any I've seen. The diagrams are so weird too, possibly this was some type of satanic book? I have a feeling psychedelic plants played into it's creation, lol. Shit though it trips me out I'm gonna find something else to do. Wish I could remember where I've seen that H thing at.
Yea I was thinking the same thing (in terms of the of the language of the book) but I don't think it has to do w/ anything satanic, since all we can really interpret are the illustration they have no connotation of Satan or anything like that. But now that you said that, it would be smart to compare to the Codex Gigas aka the Devils Bible, which is the largest medieval manuscript in the world.
I think you are on to something. This could easily be Latin, then coded into this language it's written in. The way it is written is similar to Latin, which has hardly any punctuation, and similar word structure... but I only took Latin in middle school and didn't do so good at it, there is no way I would be able to translate Mystery > Latin > English lol
lol i hear ya i never took latin and i barely know pig latin so im stuck to lol. But i want to know what this book knows so that wont stop me...sorta lol
Very interesting, I wonder how hard people are currently working on cracking it today?? and if it means anything unique inside, like the key of the universe we've all been wondering or simply sky is blue grass is green
@smellytaco: look at the Glossolalia section of the wiki article i linked @flyingmyplane: the center circle seems to have the same architecture of Russian churches at the center of it but look at the 'pillars' on the outside of it seem like well idk Here is the image i'm referring to:
That resolutions a lot better, and it looks like some aliens in the middle with their backs towards us worshipping something... I keep thinkin of it as a map or something, but it could be like a "revolution" chart or something, ya know what im saying? I dont know the proper word for it.
