    Haha this is cool!

Weird coincidence but last week I got my MPC 2500 set back up for the first time in ages and was messing around with it. I loaded up a bass sample and used the 16 levels feature on the tune of the sample so I could make up basslines by tapping the pads. Started playing the bassline from Sliver first, then moved onto Love Buzz (it helps that Nirvana were my favourite band since the age of 7 and when I started playing guitar in 95 their songs were pretty much all I wanted to learn how to play haha) and it actually crossed my mind that this sort of cover could be awesome.

  2. Cool!  I love off-beat covers  :)  Got any recordings of yours?   Here's another weird analog synth Nirvana cover that I did yesterday:

So far so good, love the drippy beat!   What are you using to make that, hardware, software, or samples?   I've been getting a very similar 'water drip' sound playing with PCM speeds on my Volca Beats, can hear it in the into here:

Thanks man, I actually found a video of water drips on youtube, ripped it, put it into the track and added some Reverb, Compression, EQ, and Dynamics. It's really amazing what you can do from merely sampling from youtube and various places, just gotta be careful with copyright haha.

  6. Cool!   I've been trying to operate in the opposite fashion, by generating the sounds I want and need using analog synths and drum machines.....it's a real challenge and gets you exploring new sounds and tweaking knobs.   I'll smoke one and fiddle different sounds a night, pretty fun stuff  ;)

  7. probably the only thing I've put time into this year, been sucking ass so bad as far as music goes, need someone to work with I just end up getting writers block and then put it away for later :p

  9. Some pretty chill, abstract, beats I been working on in FL Studio.  Haven't had much time to make beats lately but here are my most recent ones.

Make sure you turn those speakers up, I need to adjust the volume on these tracks.

This is a great song with a ton of soul written by a good friend of mine.  He's a great guitarist/singer.

  13. thanks man, I just get clusterfucked and sidetracked and then usually end up saving the project never to be seen again :p thats the most I've spent on any one project this year, only like 3.5hr

I really need someone to work with in person, I hate not having anyone to get help from or share ideas with. just been uninspired I guess :/

  14. I feel you, we've all been there. I'd love to work with you if, by some miracle, you live in north Georgia lol.

Well I'm nearly done with this mixdown, it's been really frustrating getting all the levels right because I can't hear anything below 50 hertz with my shitty headphones. I would wait to show you guys the final, mastered version but I've been having to send files in between a friend to tell me if all the levels are right because he has a studio quality speaker setup.

But here ya go, enjoy this for now.

  17. If anyone enjoys psychedelic and trippy, throw some headphones or decent speakers on for this live in-studio performance video:
