hopefully mr.soetoro won't have a second term. i called my congressman and senator to tell them to vote no on the patriot act. is it just me or is the patriot act like the most unpatriotic thing ever in the history of america?

Seeing this pass just makes me even more angry about Feingold not being re-elected. He was the ONLY senate member to vote against it when it first came to vote.

That said, this is only a 3 month extension to allow for debate. So make sure you guys save some hate for when he signs the real bill. Don't pay any attention to the Senate and House members that actually vote on the bill though. They have NOTHING to do with this. It's all Obama.

That said, this is only a 3 month extension to allow for debate. So make sure you guys save some hate for when he signs the real bill. Don't pay any attention to the Senate and House members that actually vote on the bill though. They have NOTHING to do with this. It's all Obama.

I gotcha man... it's just funny that if he wanted to send a message and make himself different from the establishment he could always veto it and let them pass it with a majority later. but I guess I am just filled with hope :P

I'll have to check the math...but i don't think that congress has the votes to override a veto. he could effectively kill the thing by vetoing it. but that is not what he wants to do. every new president laments the power grabs of the last and continually do nothing to overturn them.
