After looking thrugh alot of journals, it looks like my girls are quite short for their age, does anyone have any ideas to get a stretch. my lights are already 2ft away from tops, is there any other way other than the 2week stretch at beginning of 12/12??? I'm not an expert and will not claim to be, but through experience I can tell you this much. It seems as though we have very similar setups in comparison to grow room size and lumens. Although you ultimately want bushy, tight internodal spacing I agree with you some stretch is necessary. While I was vegging with strictly hps for a while I found that due to more penetration and no blue spectrum I got very well developed midget plants, but immediately after I got a new light and switchable ballast and vegged my plants for a couple weeks under the mh light they looked completly differant. If you can afford it I would highly reccomend it. However without a conversion kit you cant get a switchable 600 watter just 400 or 1000, No idea why. Hope this helps (I've always wanted to start a journal but after a few grows I realize sometimes I feel like I barely have enough time to grow let alone update w/pics and comments). I'm currently growing dj shorts blueberry and hindu kush(seperate strains), but this is your journal...GOOD LUCK keep the pics coming.
p.s. Your plants still look very good and will grow fine start to finish w/the hps...just a possible investment for the future:cool:
Thanks for checking out my grow ray and thanks for the comments but i actually started them under a 400w mh after which i switched to a 600w hps. But ive researched this and deliberately bought a philips 600w son-T bulb which actually uses 630w of electric due to an extra 30w being allocated soley to the blue spectrum.
This was my 1st ever try starting with mh and i very much doubt ill ever do it again. After further research i discovered that a
400w mh gives 32,000lumens
400w super mh gives 42,000lumens
400w son-t hps gives 55,000lumens
and a high output son-t gives 56,500lumens and all this difference in lumens for the same electric bill
So from now on i'll just run my son-t's
my current 600w is blasting out 92,000 and their squat but loving it
Thankyou so much for your advise
