Changing current ventilation, adding Co2, Help Please!!, Pic

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by purple4, Feb 3, 2011.

  1. So right now I have good ventilation and a reflector with a 300watt HPS.
My new plan was to buy a hood, use my fan to vent the heat away and add a Co2 booster (such as All Natural CO2 Generators for the purpose of CO2 enrichment and air fertilization) or make a homemade one. This way there is more Co2 (i think?) and the light can get much closer to the plants without a heat issue. Also, I will have small clip on fans for air circulation (not in pic). The temp in the room should also stay much more even (right now its around 55F at night and 75F during day).

Would this work? and be a better setup?
    Closer light
    More Co2
Only have to buy a hood for hps

    Anything helps please!!

  2. when i did this, i had to add a heater and AC.

    welcome to CGE.

  3. Would I really need to add AC and a heater? I have a heater in my room which warms the place up quick, but my temps here are usually around 70 degrees for a lot of the time, and my room will usually stay colder than warmer so I could just bump up the heat for a bit

  4. In your new design, you're not showing any room ventilation. Only cooling for the light. I think you're gonna need fan-powered room ventilation, even if you supplement with CO2.

Your Co2 setup is all wrong, Co2 is heaver than air therefore sinks. Ideally you would need to have your Co2 generator above your plants with fans in between to mix up the air and evenly disperse the Co2. With the generator on the ground you will just have a high PPM of Co2 near the floor and almost none near the plants.
