Dogs in the class room

Is this legal? My private high school which has never had dogs come in before, sent out an email saying that they are hiring a "third party company" (not police) to come in and do random drug searches with dogs. They also said that the dogs would be going into random class rooms too. I was under the impression dogs couldn't go into the classrooms. Also it seems to me that if they aren't police, then if the dog alerted on me i could just tell them they can't search my pockets even if i had bud in my pockets (not that i'm planning to take it to school) because what rights does this third party company have to violate my rights of privacy. Now i know its school grounds and all, and teachers and staff can search my back pack, but a third party saying "empty your pockets" seems sketchy.

On a funny side note: all the seniors are planning on bringing weed to school and sprinkling it everywhere so it messes with the dogs muahahhaha

If you have bud on you, have raw meat in your bag too, so the dogs will go off at the meat and you'll be sweet once they find the meat.

They cannot legally search you NO MATTER WHAT. Even administrators cannot search you if you say you do not consent without your parents permission. Trust me I've gotten in a lot of trouble in school

As soon as you step on school property you give up all your rights to the school (Usually when you enroll into the school they have you signing all these random documents and one of those documents says they can search you whenever they want.) The school hired this "third-party" whatever and if they're under the instruction of the school there is nothing you can do about it.

haha the point is that we'll all just sprinkle it on the ground and not have anything on us, so we won't go to jail because we don't have any. And itd be funny to watch the dogs alerting on every corner of the school

I'm confused by that too. Usually if the dogs smell a scent from the classroom they are allowed to go inside and sniff around.

Perhaps a bit off topic, but what if a parent was to warn the school of strong allergies towards dogs?

also if anyone has any comments on what rights this third party that is not affiliated with the school has against my privacy rights. I know i wave rights to searches from school faculty and stuff, but really? I wave rights to privacy from EVERYONE and anyone can search me whenever they want and i can't refuse?

Schools can do whatever they want... seriously. You parents sign papers that waive your rights of privacy. Saying otherwise is just stupid and ignorant. When they take your cell phone away in class that's like saying, "you can't just take my belongings, it's my right to..." No, it's school rules.

also thats dumb that you legally have to go to school, and in order to go to school you have to wave your rights, so the waveing of your rights is legally pressed on you. (not saying that you shouldn't go to school, school is a great thing).

I understand its the truth, the reason for the flaming is kind of comical actually. Its because you see this answer repeated multiple times in almost every thread that it could be posted in haha. So i find it rather funny, because obvious you shouldn't bring it to school, and like 3 people already stated it, and 1000's have already states it before them on other threads No offense meant toward those people
