Hi! Welcome to GC.

Plants are looking nice, healthy, and green. What soil do you have them in? From the leaf curl, it looks like they may be reaching their upper limit for food.

Can't wait to see you flower these out.

Edit: After seeing your newest blog entry, it looks like they've perked up significantly. Looking very nice.

thanks, Colonel. I potted them in a mix of Miracle Grow (organic and moisture retention) I didn't know what to buy so I grabbed a couple that sounded ok. The plants are looking good, just can't sex them yet. I topped three of them on Monday. We'll see how it goes. I think Wednesday is the end of the fourth week from seed. Not sure when I should switch to flowering.

Thanks for checking it out.

Ah that makes sense. MG is pretty hot for younger plants and seedlings. That curl is pretty standard until plants get to be a little older and can handle the food, or they strip enough out of the soil to balance things. Looks like you've hit that point.

Your topping looks good. They have some very nice strong looking stems. Did you take any clones?

How much room do you have to work with? What are your overall room dimensions? Your plants will stretch a bit during flowering, so if you have height restrictions, that is something to keep in mind.

You could probably let them bush out for a couple more weeks before flipping them. That will help your yield tremendously.

CFL's also don't have the best penetrating power, but your topping should help with that a lot. A little training to get a nice, flat and even canopy would be ideal to maximize yield with that 250.

Don't be afraid to bend, tie, and clip to get them into the size and shape you want. They're resilient plants and can put up with the stress if they're healthy.

Looking forward to your next update.

Not yet. Probably going to this week. The closet is very fragrant when its been shut for a while. Need to get on that. Also, not sure when to start flowering. I was going to do it in maybe a week or two (in order to harvest for the April 'holiday') but am undecided as to exactly when.

I have videos up on youtube

Also, I can see what I think are think are stipules, but I can't see any stamen or pistils, yet.

Thanks for checking it out.

Based on your pictures, you're probably no more than a week or so away from the optimal time to start 12/12. You've done a good job maximizing your canopy area. As long as they don't bush out past the usable light footprint, and can remain within a couple inches of the bulbs, they should be mighty fine.

the room is a 5x7x8 closet. 6 ft vertically is about the limit for the light due to some shelving. still working on an enclosure/cabinet of some sort. plants are occupying a 28"x28"in space in the corner.

Day 39 (Veg)

Debating two options at this point:
1. Flipping to 12/12 next week in order to harvest n cure by April 'holiday'
2. Vegging till plants are a little taller before flipping.

Also should I be trimming anything?

Should have the enclosure/ventilation completed either sun or wed.

Really could use some feedback.

They look great. My vote would be for option 1.

There isn't really a need to trim anything. I am an advocate of lollipoping (getting rid of the leaves that are low on the plant though). It can help to have that space free for some airflow. Also, even though there's only a little light getting to those lower nodes, the plant will still make popcorn buds. By getting rid of those, you're allowing the plant to put its energy into the larger ones.

Whatever you're doing, keep it up.

Day 43 (Veg)

Soooo, I think I'm going to flip them soon. Looking into taking some clones. Tallest plant Olive Oyl (top of pic, in corner with ruler in it) is almost to 2 ft (from top of dirt). The Runts and the Stygian Witches, front and right in pics, are about 15-16 inches. Uma (left plant) is a healthy 14 inches. Don't want to run out of room and trying not to push any envelopes with this being my First Try.

Still working on enclosure and ventilation.

And still can't tell they're sex for sure, yet.

Peruse and respond.

Sooo of my 8 seeds that sprouted/rooted,
1 got edged out by potmates,
4 are for sure male,
2 were overshadowed by third potmate, but are now being recultivated
and one and only one is for sure female.

I did cut two clones of the female but I think I did it too late. And I didn't have any rooting solution. We'll see.

Also, without a pc for a bit so all my updates will probably only be text or youtube videos (see signature). Unless I can figure out how to upload directly from my phone.

Thanks for checking it out.

So Olive is doin well. Four strong growin sites. The two resurrected Stygian Witch 2 AND 3 are begginning to lift their skirt, so to speak. I'm wondering, should I be removing all the large fan leaves? Not doing much pruning to this point. I've only been removing those that were already dying.
