To start off my plants are 2 weeks and three days old, this is my first grow and i have 4 Plants growing. I built a 2'x2'x54" cabinet for them.
After germination and planting the seedling. I waited approx. 3 days for them to sprout. After all 4 made a sprout i used 4, 26 watt 2100 lumen CFLs for 24/0. After 2 weeks i switched from 24/0 to 18/6 which is where im at now.

Things i will be using for my cabinet

1) 165 cfm active air inline duct fan Hydrofarm - Active Air ACDF4 4 inch In-Line Fan 165 CFM

2) DIY activated carbon scruber http://forum.grassci...n-scrubber.html

3) 130 cfm Newegg.com - Scythe DFS123812-3000 "ULTRA KAZE" 120 x 38 mm Case Fan PC fan for intake

4) FloraLux 400W HPS Floralux 400W HPS Grow Light - Model FL400 at PropertyRoom.com

5) 5 25w CFLs with 2100 luminance each for vegetative growth

6) 25 ft of 4 inch vent duct compatible with fan and Floralux hood.

7) General Hydroponics Flora Series QT - FloraGro, FloraBloom, and FloraMicro [ame=http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Flora-FloraBloom-FloraMicro/dp/B0024NDVRA]Amazon.com: General Hydroponics Flora Series QT - FloraGro, FloraBloom, and FloraMicro: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame]

I bought the wood and stuff for around 80 bucks at Home Depot, 2'by2's, plywood, fine thread nails, hinges, and mounts for Light fixture etc, etc.

This is my cabinet at one week during growth

I did some work on the cabinet, sanded, painted, drilled a 4 inch hole with a jigsaw and i still have one more hole to go, Im waiting on the PC fan for the intake but thats still in the mail. As well as the 12v 600mA DC adapter for wiring my PC fan as was mentioned in http://forum.grassci...ighlight=pc fan.

im actually pretty pissed of right now. they just delivered my active air inline fan. I am very dissatisfied. Not only are there no directions to screw the mount onto the device, but the screws dont fit anywhere on it. And what makes me want to return it, is the sheer size of this thing. Its at least 12 inches, that blocks 25% of light to my plants...

the mount it out side of the room and use flex tube or strait duct, slack in the tube with reduce air flow and cause excess noise

Ok so heres a pic of the fan inside the box.

Attached File  IMG_1220.jpg   208.93K   63 downloads

I found some screws that fit into the blower. Its about 10 inches in diameter, its huge. That light is my 400 w HPS. Now if you look at where the fan is thats where i plan on keeping it during growth. After the canopy stretches upward a little bit im going to lay it snug ontop of the 4 pots. Thats the only thing i can think of, i tried mounting the fan everywhere it just doesnt fit, or its covering the light. I tried thinking outside of the box but i dont want it outside the box because its where i sleep. So i hope this will work

Here are pictures of my 4 plants, they are 18 days old. Some plants are bigger then others. I believe its because they have a lack of soil.

Im preparing to ad more soil to the bottoms of these pots after the next watering. I want to make sure the roots have plenty of nutrients for a nice yield. Wish me luck. And if you have any suggestions shoot em at me!

My plants are 18 days old as of today. I spent about 380 dollars. For everything including the wood. A friend gave me the light used in great working condition with barely any cosmetic wear for about 100 dollars. When it comes to the smell i will be using the DIY carbon scrubber i have mentioned in the first post. I hope you like everything! any more questions feel free to ask!

I added more soil to the bottoms of these plants for the roots. It is unfortunate that i used MG soil but its all i had to work with so consider this an experimental research on how these plants do. They are now under a 400 watt HPS. Here are new pics as of today:

UPDATE:

I had no where else to put the blower, i think the plants will get enough sunlight. Thats a 400Watt HPS in a 2'by2'by54' grow BOX. The flow doesnt seem really that strong come out my carbon exhuast

You dont have room to hang it at the top? Thats what I did with a very similar fan.

280 bucks though? Mine is a 4 inch that looks just like it and it was under 100.

Well if it makes you feel any better, it took me about 4 hours and 5 big bong packs of staring at my closet grow room to figure out how the fuck to mount that thing :D

Screwed a 2x4 into the ceiling, screwed the packaged brackets onto the fan with the power cord facing downwards. works like a charm for me, temps from 70-76 with a 400 watt hps.

good luck with it.

im primarily concerned with airflow. Airflow on this current setup is really minimal, and there is a lot of static pressure on the blower... Im thinking of creating a RAMAIR induction system on the intake with a high velocity PC fan. My problem is mounting it with a specific drain grate with a 4 inch spout which i cant find as mentioned in this thread http://forum.grassci...box-pc-fan.html
