I'll give him "Biggest Distraction to America's and Ohio's Economic Problems" for sure

Yep he was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Then left them out to dry and was a total dick with the way he left. I'm not a cavs or a heat fan i just find this interesting.

Why would the governor of Ohio make a song dedicated to keeping a fucking basketball player around? Because he can't govern his own state and produce enough revenue to support the government programs and such

literally every player has done the same thing. Just because he is probably the top player in the league doesn't mean he has to stay in Cleveland. He had every right to leave.
i don't think that he couldn't leave it's just the way he went about it. He came across as a complete egomaniac. He himself or his agent didn't even tell the cavs that he was leaving, he has some random guy in his entourage do it just before "the decision" came on tv.

^This. Akron =/= Cleveland, I don't think he had true ties to the city although they're close. It's just that he was a dick about it all. When Kobe's contract was up, he said he wanted out (even though he ended up staying).. he didn't hide in the dark until last second.

The only thing to ever come out of Ohio that struck me as crucial was the infamous Lemon G.
I doubt Lebron has ever smoked, Lemon G
actually he probably has. being from akron, it is pretty well known that he used to blow trees and do some lines back in high school. and most pro players don't stop once they make it to the league. ex: carmello and josh howard.
anyways i guess those who say he isn't from the city don't really understand the situation up here. it was really a miracle that the cavs won the lottery the year to draft him. his senior year at st. v built up huge hype by them climbing the national rankings to #1. lebron was already a superstar here in northeast ohio before he ever put on a cavs uniform. he was viewed at as the savior of cleveland sports really because in every sport, we just down right blew. for him to leave, yeah people are going to be mad. i'm not mad that he left, just the way he chose to do so. that would be like announcing a divorce with your wife on national tv.
