My original Topic is left untouched below so that others who are interested in spending $150 have an easier time understanding this thread but what I am currently considering (and why) is listed below. Given the price range and the fact that design and glass quality was more important than thicknesses or size at my given price range of $150, I decided to go with a $110 45x5mm SYN I am still deciding on Beaker or Straight but I am not sure. Help/thoughts on this would be appreciated. Things to consider: Supposedly straights have stronger bottoms is this true? Being level on a table isn't relevant Lower water requirements for a straight is a pro. Speed I clear the bong doesn't matter. Will a straight have a good enough volume of smoke given the tube size? Apparently the SYN Showerhead diffusers are only 6.5 and 7 inches which is too long for this bong. What alternative showerhead diffusers should I consider? I was looking at the 'Alex K 14/18mm - Showerhead Downstem - 3 3/4' Would a Ben Wilson Clear Disc Screen Slide make it easier or harder to pack light bowls? Should I get the Clear Disc Screen Slide or the diffuser? Here is the initial post for those looking to benefit from this thread I got $150 to spend on a smoking device. I had a starting point but literally any $150 combination suggestion would be appreciated/looked into so please post those options. I assume at this price range I should get a Glass on Glass bong, Here was one option I was considering: $100 - 50x7mm thick glass 18 inch with flush mouth diffused downstem and size 14 pull stem And maybe $50 more for ashcatcher/pullstem/diffuser/etc which you guys would need to recommend. Edit: Due to clarity I have taken this part out and replaced it with a different explanation In my College I have been confronted about 'tobacco' use twice by the people in charge of the dorms and a person who I sold 'tobacco' to was busted for smoking 'tobacco' in his dorm and kids somehow attached my name to that. On top of that, I have other places that are close that I can safely store all my 'tobacco' and stuff in. So no, I am not going to store/smoke anything in dorms so we can stop worrying about that. The only reason that me being in College is relevant is because I do not have access to a wall plug when I smoke which rules out non-portable vaporizers. All comments are welcome. I don't want to spend much more than $150 unless it really seems worth it as I have no real way of obtaining more money. Don't say anything about me saving to pay for more 20/g exotic 'tobacco' since I came prepared to college. I have a place to store contraband off-campus so stowing away is not a factor. I have a good piece and a dugout/one hitter and a cigarette one hitter and a lot of sweet stinky weed. Edit: Current Suggestions $100 MFLB + $50 on Bong $110 SYN straight tube + ??? I still need good attachments to replace the default ones that come with the bong (better bowl/perc/diffuser/etc) I believe
I have access to a place off-dorm that I can (and do) keep all kinds of stuff that isn't allowed so that is not a factor. Thanks for the thought though because the ability to frequently use the vaporizer on weekends I had not initially considered but when it came up I decided against it.

I was looking there for, ironically, simple glass bongs, as after research it appeared that different brands of glass at this price range didn't play as much of a factor in terms of price/performance. However, for some reason people just don't like Weedstar. Many people talked about good deals in local blown glass, which is the basically what you get when you buy from Etsy
I say get a Magic Flight Launch Box vaporizer. It's $99. Lifetime warranty. Very small and compact, fits in your hand, comes with small velvet carrying case. No smell/smoke. VERY STEALTH! And then the other 50 bucks, get likeeeeee.. a small spoon.
Already have a good spoon. Is the MFLB better than a bong? I really don't like the idea of a $100 Vaporizer or the idea of stripping batteries or the varying temperatures that the box has due to battery inconsistencies although I could consider it. If I did get that I would also get a $50 Bong although I am not sure that's the option I want. I am looking into the MFLB on fuckcombustion but can people suggest some legit bongs.
If you don't have a mflb I would get that before a bong. If you still want to get a piece check out ALT. I just picked up an SYN straight tube for $110.
get an MFLB man i got one too its great for dorms conserves bud and its a great high, or get a myrtlezap for around 150 it looks nothing like a vaporizer so its super stealth u can leave it sitting out, doesnt smell, and its extremely effecient.

The point of me mentioning I was in a college dorm was just to say that I cannot use anything that has an electrical outlet, because I don't smoke or store anything related to weed in my dorms.
well u culd keep the vape and weed an there and u wnt get caught so idk if that appeals to u, either way thou the launch box is a great investment, get extra batteries too.

I showed my $100 option, and got showed a $110 SYN option. Can someone let me know what kinds of bowl/diffuser/etc I would be getting for ~$40-50 if I got a bong around $100?
Theres so many good options for $150 man... what really are you looking for? Do you want a perc'd bong or just a regular tube? Are you willing to wait for your glass and get a sick custom peice? or do u want somthing asap? more details! Fuck a MFLB. just my 2cents lol
same shit happened to me my freshman year, fuckin kids gotta be narcs, u can check out aqualabs they have alot of stuff on there for around that price range. personally id save up and get something a lil more pricer or worked. ill be pickin up a sg stemline soon for around 300, so if u can save up go for it.
Yeah dude like the vaporizer idea is cool and good and I am probably gonna end up getting one eventually but I have a much easier time evaluating vaporizers myself than bongs due to the number of choices and my difficulty isolating the quality factors in bongs. I can wait for a custom piece. I smoke only on the weekends and I still have experimenting to do and I haven't put enough research into bongs. I am not sure if I want a perc'd or not, I know the perc is smoother but I heard it decreases THC efficiency and due to my smoking schedule and dank herb I don't use a ton of weed. A perc seems cool as hell tho. I just don't know too much about perc and non-perk options for quality bongs at $150 Why triple perc? I never see those on high-end bongs. Also, do I see a carb hole? I dunno about narcs they are just tools. The sell incident didn't get me any official confrontation. Official confrontation was about me being sketchy then me being 'dependent on Marijauana' which is not true since I only smoke tobacco ;D

Hmm since you're in a dorm I would probably get a nice bubbler for $50-$70 and maybe a spoon to if you don't already have one (very handy, especially in your situation). If you really have your heart set on a bong, which I wouldn't blame you for, my buddy was able to get a nice 3 or 3.5 ft triple percolater glass bong with an ash-catcher, 1 gram bowl, ice-catcher (not sure if that's the actual name but hopefully you know what I mean) and the smoothest, coolest rips I've taken from a bong for $150. Keep this thread updated with what you're considering and when you do make your purchase try and put up pics if you can!
