Small glass pipe vs small metal pipe

If you're going to be sharing the pipe alot with alot of people then you might want to get metal for the chance of it breaking. Really thick pieces that are quality blown won't break as easy. I've dropped my spoon on concrete several times. It just depends on how well the glass was blown. Also glass will make it taste soooo much better than metal.
A good spoon will run $25-$50. I prefer a carb on my pipe.

 

I'd say glass. But I guess it's all down to preference. I like glass just in general over metal objects, since glass is nice and smooth.

 

metal is under rated, try one of your friends bowl first and see how you like it. If it's small i would buy a metal for its durability. bigger than 4inches I'd prefer glass

 

Glass all the way. My older sister picked me up a nice spoon in Mexico that we call The Tank. It's been dropped on rocks before, just bounces back up. Carb for sure.

 

I prefer glass. No, they dont get hot. Yes you should get one with a carb. they usually cost anywhere from $5-$50. Mine was $15. I've dropped mine several times on concrete. But, sadly it did get a chip in it. and it tastes A LOT LOT better. Plus with a carb you clear it soo theres no smoke still coming out of it.

 

glass does not need a screen. also i saw that no one tackled the taste issue...smoking out of metal bowls gives the smoke a metallic/shit flavor, smoking out of glass is clean. glass gets hot but not anywhere near as hot as metal.

Ceramic agreed. I bought a small ceramic black pipe, never got hot didn't need a screen, and always tasted fine. A loaded bowl was good for multiple people, or just me. But alas... i lost the little bastard somewhere.

Does it taste different (better?) than smoking out of a metal pipe. Yes, glass lets you taste the weed better.

Does it get too hot to hold? (my li'l metal guy can get damn toasty) No, Doesnt get hot. the thicker the glass, the less hot it will get. But Ive never got burned by a bowl.

How breakable are they? Depends on how thick the glass is. A standard glass spoon will be able to take some damage before breaking.

How much would a mid-range glass spoon cost? $15-$30

A glass pipe is something you can really connect with when smoking, LOVE EM,but metal pipes bring back so much memories

 

Glass pipes rock especially glass bubblers that are small enough to fit in your pocket. Metal pipes clog up more easily but bring back memories of early smoking days

glass always. i have both, and the glass really brings out the pure flavors of the bud. my metal pipe only gets used for hash because its got a twist on bowl cap to cover the hash while it burns.

smoking bud out of metal sucks. metal has that unavoidable tinny taste to it.

yo, check out pyptek pipes, there glass on the inside, metal on the outside. No tinny taste, with the indestructible nature of metal, and you can take them apart and clean them.
