This my DoG (Drop of Green) setup. It's about as micro as micro gets...

It's a 3.5w LED array and a small 12v dc blower fan inside a Amp Big Rig can.

The plant is in a sort of mini hempy-bucket setup, using perlite and coconut fiber.
Watering schedule is 20ml of old DWC nutes every two days.

Right now, I've got a Lemon Ice male in it. I popped some beans a while back, and it was the fastest growing plant and the biggest. After I chopped it down for being male, I had a change of heart and took a clone. It's the first time I've had a male in it, but it appears to like it as much as the females do. The last couple of females produced a little over a 2 gram bud. Once this thing drops pollen, I put a female in and do a micro grow log.

  2. Wow that is crazy right there haha. Roughly how long does it take to grow a plant in there from seed to harvest?

  3. It's too small to start from seed, so I use a clone. It takes about as long as a plant grown any other way, except there's zero veg time. I even root the clone under 12/12.

Here are the original pics... They're a little bigger, still not that great... used the camera on my phone...

If you look close, you can see the B and R have holes poked in them, that's where air comes in... it goes out the seam in the middle.

  5. All i can say is WOW!

I thought my s.o.g setup concealed in a five gallon bucket was as small as it gets. This is smaller than my rig by at least 600 fl. oz lol.
I might have to make something like this the next time i move. It would be easy to power with batteries.

It's gone thru a lot of variations... Different mediums... soil, DWC, hempy... and different combos of LEDs...

Here it is as a micro DWC, with a built-in micro air pump... and with blue LEDs...

It worked pretty well, but the pump was kind of noisey and if you tipped it, it'd spill...

  7. wtf. *speechless*

  8. The air pump and lights were controlled by a USB relay... Now, the LEDs and fan are directly wired to the AC adapter.

  10. OMG this is just too cool....fair bloody play mate, I love it :hello:

  11. That's really cool. Subscribed.

  12. damn thats bad ass

im workin on a micro dwc setup involving a four gallon bubble bucket and a five gallon bucket to contain the plant so it just looks like two buckets stacked up.

i dont have any reason to be stealth or anything i just have fun seeing what i can yeild from little setups

  13. Goddamn that's badass man. Im certainly going to try this out.

  14. Micro madness, I love it. Heck, you can now officially grow in the cupholder of your car... I'm so jealous :smoke:

  15. awesome little project, man. I've been wondering what is the smallest setup you could possibly have, and this has got to be close!

    +rep, and subscribed.

I would like to see something like this, but just a little bit larger. Like something that could pull a 5-10 gram yield.

What kind of LEDs do you use, and where do you get them?

Wow, I'm really surprised at the comments... thanks everyone for your support. I thought I could count on at least one hater telling me I suck cock for spending 10 weeks (and a full grow and cure is a solid 10 weeks) growing 2 grams. Of course, it's not my only grow...

I started trying to grow pot in a pop can over a bet, two years ago... I used to grow with HPS and spent more time worrying about heat than growing weed. So, I started fucking with LEDs and I was sold straight off. Of course, I'm a fanatical DIYer... so soldering thousands of LEDs just ment I could make my light exactly how I wanted...

Anyway, a year or so later, I was high, smoking with a fellow grower... somewhat bragging about how awesome the LEDs are, and next thing I knew, I had a $100 riding on my growing a bowls worth of weed, in a pop can.

I got these LEDs off eBay. They're Xbrite .4watt Cree's... I got the fans on eBay too.

  17. The hardest part of this is designning the LED array, and that's not really hard. You can use a site like LED series/parallel array wizard to come up with the best way to wire your LEDs and resistors, based on your LED and power supply specs.

These LEDs aren't even soldered together. I just poked them threw the plastic-foam and twisted the ends together with a needle-nosed pliers. I did solder the power and fan leads to the ends of the LED array though, but the LED and resistors are just twisted together and the extra wire clipped off near the base of the twist.

  18. Sounds a little over my head...

I have literally no experience at all with LEDs, and as soon as you start throwing around the word "resistors" I know that I have just been humbled. I have always dreamed of putting together a super-micro grow like this, but I just don't have the technical know-how.

Maybe if someone would put together a step-by-step DIY guide on how to make really tiny grow spaces, average idiots like me would be able to try this out.

    *;) nudge nudge ;)*

    Welcome to the forums :D

  19. Thanks, it's good to be here. I bought some killer glass pieces from GC a few years ago and thought the forums must be a sham to drive sales. I wished I'd taken the time to read them... I ended up hanging out at the Cannabis Culture forums, and while they have at least one decent mod and a handfull of decent growers... it's mostly trolls and forum rats.

I guess I could put together a DIY for the popcan grow. Resisters, sadly, aren't that impressive once you understand what they're for... Basically, LED's have a sweet spot for the voltage range, usually 2.8-3v. And usually, your power supply is, say 12v... If you hook a 2.8v LED to 12v... the LED fries. But, you can take 4 LEDs in series (4x2.8=11.2) and use a resistor to fill the gap between the LEDs wanting only 11.2v and the power supply's output of 12v. Once you have that set of LEDs matched to your power supply, you can add identical sets...

It's not that bad... once you're making your own LEDs, I'll tell you about my Cannabis DNA projects...
