Welcome to my review of 7th Floors Silver Surfer Vaporizer! :hello:

(You can visit my other review of the Da Buddha Vaporizer here!)

I will be using a 1-10 point system, 1 being bad 10 being great.

This was a birthday gift I got last month, August, after my DBV was found in my room and never seen again.

The packaging was a simple brown box filled with packing peanuts. The SSV was in it's red hemp case and everything was in order except for the stir tool which was never put inside the case.

Value: 7- At $245 (after 12% off), I feel the SSV is slightly overpriced vs the price of the DBV for pretty much the same heating element. The price comes from the SSV being made in the USA 100% instead of like the DBV where some of it is made in China. The price is the SSV's weakest point and if I did not receive it as a gift, I would have definitely bought myself another DBV.

Ease of Use: 9 - Hands free just like the DBV, but it has the option of being standard. I figured I was already used to the hands free so I opted for that. I feel that with hands free, if/when you are high you have a lower chance of breaking things but that's just me. You simply put your herb in the wand, screw in the wand to the heating element and suck in.

Flavor: 10 - The SSV's flavor is stronger than the DBV in that there is more vapor to air ratio. You will taste elements in your herb you never knew existed and it brings a fresh new look to consuming your bud.

Durability: 10 - If I could go to an 11 on durability I would! The SSV is the perfect thing to have around clumsy stoners because it is indestructible. The slant design makes it even harder to knock over than with the DBV and it's longer surfboard-like base makes it extremely sturdy. I feel like I could use the SSV while in a barrel going over Niagra Falls if I could and the SSV would come out in better shape than me haha.

Design: 8 - It's safe to say the slanted design of the SSV is superior to the straight design of the DBV. Your herb will never fall into the heating element because of this slant, unless you accidentally blow into the tube. I gave it a point lower than the DBV though because the temperature knob is on the opposing side of the wand instead of on the same side like with the DBV. I find it awkward at times, it almost feels like you are vaping in reverse and you have to look over to see where exactly the temperature knob is currently at instead of it facing you.

Clean up: 8 - Cleaning is really, really simple. There is really only 1 piece you have to clean, the wand, and that is only after weeks of daily use. Plus, you can save the resin inside the wand and smoke it or use it like kief, so win-win! The mouthpiece doesn't get dirty and the wand itself is looking pretty clean. The only thing you have to do to clean the vaporizer itself is simply blow into it and all the little particles just fly away.

Accessories/Customizability: 10 - The SSV is the king of custom vaporizers, if you have the cash to do so. I didn't even know at the time but it came with a custom colored heater cover (an awesome purple) and wand (an even more awesome blue) along with a swirly glass temperature knob, which I did know about. You can get aroma tops, mouthpieces, ice chambers etc. The wand is also different from the DBV in that there is a thicker glass around where the screen is and has the SSV logo on it. You can even get custom colored tubing, replacement bases, the whole deal!

The high: 10 - When alone, I can get high using the SSV by just barely covering the screen with herb. Like, really high with very little...it's almost scary cause I'll put so little in and be like "Oh that isn't anything maybe I should put more in" and by the time I'm done vaping what I put in I am ready to put the vape away. I get really talkative when using the SSV and want to roam around town. Vaping with friends usually leads to ridiculous conversations within 10 minutes. You feel like you have control of your body and mind or that you didn't vape enough and then it will hit you and hit you hard.

If you have the money or feel like really pampering yourself for the year, get an SSV and don't look back. You will be very pleased with your purchase for years to come. And don't forget to SAVE YOUR VAPED GOODS because you can still use the "duff" in baked goods and get a really heavy hitting couchlock body high.

  2. Great review man, I should still be thanking you for your other review on the Da Buddha(DBV) because that helped me decide on mine.
If anything ever happens to my DBV that cant be fixed, im definitly going all out for an SSV! +rep

  3. Thanks for the +rep Deez  and glad you are happy with your DBV! Maybe we can vape sometime haha

  4. Awesome. The SSV will be my next purchase.

  5. Nice review, SSV is a great vape.

  6. I will be buying one when I get the cash up for it, I am a complete noob when it comes to vapes...so yeah...wil need to figure out how to use it..

    nice review man, + rep

  7. Nice review, I'm going buy this in march for my birthday... since I just picked up a MFLB and Incredibowl mini.

  8. I used one at a buddies house on Friday, I can completely agree with everything you said. It's a great, great, vape.

    +rep for the review

  9. This is a homemade Perc Bong that I used with my SSV

It was just an innocent empty Snapple bottle turned into a monster with a hole cut out and some tape sealing where the whip was shoved in. The vapor would bubble through all 3 straws and even through the crevices in between the straws so it was a ridiculously great homemade perc bong.

  10. nice review buddy

  11. How long does it take to heat up?

  12. 3-5 minutes on whatever setting you like between 12 and 2 o'clock and your ready to go.

Personally, I turn mine on up to about 1 o'clock and in 3 minutes I'm taking hits. That's from the off position though.

Since it's not good for the unit to turn it completly on and off multiple times a day, I usually just turn it all the way down without turning it OFF and from there it only takes 2 minutes to heat up.

  13. About 3 minutes, if that, for mine. But while it's heating up you will usually be setting up the rest of the stuff like grinding and setting up the wand etc. So by the time you're done it is ready to go!

I tend to start vaping at 11 o'clock position then move to 12 o'clock then end at 1 o'clock. Stirring up the herb in between turning up the heat if needed. This really extends the most out of what you put in I feel.

  14. your reviews are the best, you should make vids

  15. Just ordered mine. Must agree that the price is a little steep, but it'll pay itself off with the savings on herb I'll have! And the health benefits outweigh any reasons not to pay top dollar for a good vaporizer.

    Nice review BTW. +rep! :hello:

  16. I would if I had a camera to make vids with Bobba :)

    And thanks jsav ;)

  17. owned a silver surfer for about 6 months. only vaporizer i've ever used, so i can't compare it to others. i will say i was very pleased with it, but yeah, probably the price was the biggest bummer. also, every once in a while the wand would fall out and my shit would go everywhere, but that's the only problem i really had with it. took me about 7-8 bowls before i was getting a good feel for the ideal temp control setting. can't wait to try DBV sometime, but i definitely recommend the SSV if you have the money.

  18. And thank you, because of this im going to shell out £200 on a SSV tomorrow....
My Bank ballance doesn't thank you, but i do!

    :smoking:

  19. Bumping for new users to see :D

  20. SSV is amazing my friend has one & i'm ordering my own in 2 weeks; we like to start it off around the 10'o clock mark while we grind get the whip & but the xbox or apple tv on; by the time thats ready we're ready to pack our bowl :3 I think it's better to have it on a low temp stering after each hit and gradually to 12-1-3-4 o'clock as you take 3-5 hits turn it up a little; gets the most out the herb :)
