Broken/ Bent stem on Cola

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by adventure, Sep 14, 2010.

  1. My cola has been bent and partially broken, im 8 weeks into flowering, and all of the leaves above the break have wilted and basically died. the cola bud is weak.
But everything is still standing. I need this remedied right now before the plant puts on the bulk of its weight.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? what should i do

Ill upload pictures in a few

with your description, You'll probably want to just pull it. you can leave the rest of the plant to ripen up a bit. If it's not 'hanging by a thread' however, you can still just splint it and give it a little bit of support. you'd be surprised by how a plant can heal itself

  3. its only a lost cause if the top part has actally died, like if its drying out and that kinda thing, if you splint it and tape around the broken part it WILL recover. just know that there is a fine window of time you can wait, and i cant guarantee that you havnt missed it. If its too late take it as a lesson learned and do what you can to supprt the good part, and now you know what to do in the future if that happens.

splint it and tape the broken part asap if that happens again.
