  1. Sorry for the stupid title, but I need answers fast.

My biggest plant -- in flowering -- has twisted leaves on the top, most near the CFLs. I think it could be overheating but its constantly watered (theres a fan going in the room, but not on or in the direction of the plant) and the CFLs are like 6 inches away (I moved it away [it was like 2 inches away to begin with] to hopefully make the problem go away, but it didnt help, it got worse actually). The leaves are twisted and looking burnt I guess. The plant was just recovering from nute burn (This makes no sense, a long time ago I fed it 15-30-15 MG all purpose plant food at the reccomended dosage and a noticable increase of dark green color happened to all the leaves, but this time, just to be safe, I made a new batch of the same thing, only using 1/4 of the reccommended dosage, and it got nute burned, the tips were curling and spots were forming. The nute burn seems to be getting better.) Without a pH meter and proper training to be growing this is a huge risk. Problems happen everyday.

Oh, and my little plants that are still in cups.. some of the leaves are turning yellow. They still look lively but not healthy. This is a nitrogen deficiency right? Whats a good way to raise nitrogen without nutes? Again, no pH meter so nutes are VERY RISKY.

Thanks. Any other tips for a succesful grow would be appreciated.

Note: This plant is around 2 feet tall. The little ones in cups are only 6 inches or so. I topped two of them and the new sets have grown in nicely.

  2. i would go to ganjaguerilla.net and look at the photo galleries. that website is made for this -diagnosing plant issues.
You mentioned it it being water alot. u might want to water a little less often and give the roots a chance to dry out. Over watering will cause droopy leaves so thats a sign. If you plants are in cups how big/old are they? They may need to be transplanted to large container

  3. Yeah Im working on transplanting.

I haven't had a chance to get any more soil.

  4. Pictures would help us out a LOT!

  5. Gnarled fresh growth is usually Ph.

  6. Get yourself a pH meter. And get off of the miracle grow. Especially the vegetable lines. If you picked up rose or orchid food from them that'd make more sense. You're growing flowers, not peppers.

It is VERY likely that your pH is amiss. You probably didn't condition your soil ahead of time with buffering amendments like dolomite lime or coco peat. Transplant into a higher quality soil, get higer quality nutrients designed for the kind of plant you are growing, and get a pH meter and then you can move on to the next problem :) There's always something...

  7. Thanks man. I just went to the store today and picked up a few things.

1.) Soil. It's potting soil but it says it's all organic. I'm not sure on the name (I just forgot, stoner moment) but I remember it saying it has peat and perlite. and a few other things. No time released nutes (I had to hunt for this, all the soil was MG in K-Mart haha, and all had time released nutes)

2.) Soil Ph Test Kit. Do these test run off aswell? I sure hope so..

It's something just like this. A different brand but looks like the same thing exactly lol.

3.) Well, I was going to pick up some ph up and down but I was low on money and needed to buy other things. Ill pick it up another time. Any home remedies? and how do I apply them? Thanks.
