Spelunky - a killer freeware game

Spelunky is a side-scrolling adventure game with graphics and mechanics similar to an NES game. Everything about each level is randomly generated, from enemies to treasures, shop locations to stage layout.

This game is the most addictive freeware game I've ever played, and I love breaking my personal records on kills, treasures and maiden saves. I understand it's based on Spelunker for the NES, but I've never played or seen Spelunker (although the similarity in name leads me to believe it's true.)

This is a must try for any blade!

I still haven't beat it, and I've been playing it for a little over a month. I think the highest score (money-wise) I've gotten was about 87,000 and I've made it to the third set of levels.
