When I was really young, maybe 4-ish, I used to know the cheat code for getting to the "secret level" of Super Mario Bros. 3. This code was one that you couldn't find in ANY cheat code book or magazine (and still most likely can't to this day). It consisted of tapping the top of the NES quite hard. The result of putting in this cheat code looked something like this: I remember it being way cooler when I was little. Also, playing SMB3 while it's glitched adds a whole new level of difficulty to the game, so if you ever become bored with the experience (God forbid), try beating it when you can't tell the floor from a pit.* *people, please don't whack your classic gaming consoles. They're becoming an endangered species.

in super mario worlds, if you played through all the star road levels and unlocked the secret zone, then beat the levels there, you could restart the game with new level lighting contrast and all the turtles had mario heads. (that one was true thoguh)

Back in N64 there was word in the school yard on Super Smash Bros you could unlock the giant Hand as a playable character. I heard you had to beat the game on highest difficulty as Link. while the scarab gun is fuckin sweet, its not a myth or legend, its real. but i remember people saying it was possible to get Wario in super smash bros n u had to beat each character with no continues on the hardest difficulty with the least amount of lives, or something like that.
