  3. Hey Thanks Storm Crow for posting such a helpful list  ,I was just searching about Tumors Regressing and finally found something very helpful for the same.thanks!!!

  4.
No, but you most certainly are lying. Your first link from the Huffington Post is very incomplete and ambiguous, and without further investigating is anecdotal and incidental at best. Your second link from SF Weekly even says, in the article, "Lung cancer is a killer, with nearly 70 percent of new cases resulting in deaths, according to statistics published by the National Cancer Institute. "I thought I was going to die," Aldrich says from her Marina District apartment. But she didn't. And now, she is busy telling anyone who will listen that, along with diet and chemotherapy, a concoction of highly concentrated cannabis oil eliminated her cancer in less than four months." Again, she was on chemotherapy, not just cannabis oil. In fact, in most of the personal testimonies like this, patients are on chemotherapy but cite cannabis as the cure, typical of alternative medicine based on pseudoscience. You also cite various pro-cannabis websites, which are hardly credible sources of medical information and can be dismissed. The Business Wire link is a copy of a follow-up press release from the for-profit pharmaceutical company Cannabis Science Inc., led by Dr. Robert Melamede. In their own press release, it states, "Endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids have demonstrated cancer killing and anti-metastatic properties in tissue culture and in animal models. While formal, proper, FDA approved clinical trials that would prove or disprove the therapeutic potential of cannabis extracts for treating cancers; trials have not been carried out. Nevertheless, a significant number of anecdotal observations have accumulated that suggest people suffering from a variety of cancers appear to have been cured by ingesting what is known as 'Rick Simpson's hemp oil'." Additionally, stories from random strangers on the internet are NOT proof of anything, except that you might be very credulous. You should do some real research, which includes looking into information which is skeptical or critical of that which you have already assumed. Here are some links from reputable sources so you can educate yourself and stop spreading misinformation that may endanger desperate people.

  5. Wow. You sure exerted your intelligence & utilized polysyllabic words to pontificate your point. That does not make you right! From a former cancer patient..I can tell you that there is NOTHING scarier than having cancer or a tumor. For you to rip these people, their research, methods & down all that was posted is really terrible.Complimentary meds such as cannabis (you made the point of the patients being on chemo) can sometimes be the difference between a positive outlook & a negative one. That said; the power of a humans brain is far superior to their bodies. If you or I beleive that some new treatment is curing you...hey smarty pants...it just might. The research may not be FDA approved or the treatment for that matter however; you cannot ignore the testimonials. You should not step on a patients hope either by rebutting everything you read that you do not agree with. Although canabis research is still in early to mid stages due mostly in part to it still being considered a sched 1 narcotic by this wonderful government we have well & corporate America (of which I'm most cases I'm a fan-just not this time) it makes it harder for scientists to study. As the counter culture movement is gaining much traction these days...& it seems with 58% of all Americans admitting that they want legalization, I suspect much more research will be done, more uses proven & maybe if the pharmaceutical, textile, lumber, plastics industries don't lobby against or buy patents to maintain profits for their co's we may have a new way of living. An Eco friendly way at that! Everything starts somewhere! Curing cancer one day may be if all goes well as simple as eating a medible kit Kat a day & at that point you may eat those same polysyllabic words you just used to intimidate & exert you intellectual superiority over all the less intellectual people here. Arrogance, snideness, attitude & a matter of fact attitude get you no where in life. Good luck...

No they aren´t all liars, but most of what is posted here is anecdotal at best.
I am a Ph.D. biologist with over 20 years continual research experience, and still going.
In spite of its growing popularity, the science of Cannabis sativa, is relatively young and has yet to benefit
from modern scientific technology. Just wait a few years.

Interesting! So PubMed is mostly anecdotal? That is where MOST of what I collect is from!

"Relatively young"? Nope! Cannabis has over 4000 years of written medical history behind it! Our antibiotics, statins and other lab produced medicines are new and relatively untested compared to cannabis!

And where do the scientists get ideas for studies?    :confused_2:  Well, sometimes the train of thought that the study is based on is from those anecdotal reports that keep popping up!

  8. Yes, the science of  Cannabis is relatively young for modern medical practices: Cannabis has not enjoyed the massive amounts of modern technologically driven research as has HIV, Cancer, genomics, etc....which is why I say wait a few years and allow the plant and its biology be analysed and researched with the tools of MODERN science. It has started, but it is relatively young. Very few large clinical or even anecdotal studies have been "pubmed" published concerning MANY OF THE WAYS PEOPLE SELF MEDICATE AND CLAIM TO HAVE CURED THEMSELVES! I believe cannabis works for many many illnesses mainly because I have witnessed them in others and myself.

And respectfully I ask if you read all the pubmed links you post? As part of my job, I read everyday and many many papers, cannabis related or not, are simply nonsense or mildly important at best.

  9. Question for Granny or anyone else knowledgable. My 84 year old mother has struggled with depression on and off for 30 years. I read about making sure diet is Omega3 Rich. I'd like to have her try Medical Marijuana . I've noticed I should be looking at a sativa dominant strain. My question is ..I'm not likely to get her to smoke, would it be worthwhile trying to offer her an edible? Thanks Head of timePeterSent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

  10. My answer is late, but a barely activated cannabis edible would be helpful, alongside a diet that includes omega acids, because your brain will need the omegas to build cb1 and cb2 receptors to utilize the cannabinoids offered by the edible.  As long as it's not too activated your mother shouldn't feel too inebriated by it, and will still benefit from the cannabinoids.

  11. Damn this is awesome. One question based on the Allergy portion. Does smoking cannabis particularly sativa strains through the months of July-September effect people with allergys to pollen and such? Because i smoked a shit load and up until recently i developed like an allergic reaction to it. Not sure if it's what caused my chest cold or not. Or maybe my chest cold was aggravated by the smoke. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great!
Here are the links thx to storm crow that sparked my idea that i may be allergic to cannabis during certain months. hope someone can help.

  18. hey granny can you fix your article links on your page?...everything is just a wall of text not separated with no links..thanks

  19. I am looking for something to help with my illness-indiced anxiety and disrupted sleep from same. I also am dealing with pulmonary sarcoidosis, and though I have used the search function I can't find anywhere that has any recommendations for sarcoidosis. Many people will claim they have used it for that, but there is absolutely no detail as to what strains, how it is taken or what doses. I can't smoke it (due to the sarcoidosis) and am not going to vape either until I get some hard information that is useful and supports vaping. Until then I use CBD oil and am trying to find what strains to start growing (can't afford to continue buying it).
