I used to be real into metalcore/death metal/hardcore when I was 14-20ish. Then my tastes changed and I got way more into classical and jazz. I still love symphonic black metal and avant-garde metal of all types though.

Honestly most of the bands in this thread sound like older bands I used to listen to. It's like metalcore/hardcore has been boiled down to a formula and then repeated ad nauseaum. 

 

That is essentially what deathcore is lol

Theres certain artists from every genre I can dig. Some music is just a cheap imitation of something better though.
