Quick question regarding joint rolling

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by xxxxblinkxxxx, Jul 10, 2010.

  1. I have a question myself regarding rolling joints.
When it comes to rolling a good tight joint, what really matters more?
    a) rolling the actual weed really tight and compressed together (to the point where if you unroll the papers, you can see the shape still stuck together) OR
    b) getting the paper tucked in really well and rolling it up like that.

I have always thought A would be the answer, but i watched a video that was on (im not trying to advertise) joint-rolling-guide.com and it looks as if he barely rolls it and just does the shape. When i try to roll it really tight the paper gets all crumpled up in the process.
Which way is the correct way? Thanks in advance.

  2. there is no correct way dawg

people roll joints differently, and as long as you like it and it's smokeable, then it's good to go

  3. Thanks for the reply, but would just rolling the paper it self tucked tight make the joint last long? Or would i have to roll the weed tight too? I just want to make me some good joints :)

  4. I really don't understand what you mean

check out the tutorials about how to roll a joint.. they're stickies I believe somewhere in this forum.. they're real good

  5. Both of them tight man.

  6. shaping it(when he's tucking and rolling) hes probably tightening the bud at the same time form one side to the other, its just a different technique.  but hey man, the key to a good joint is just enjoying the fuck out of it.

I'm the joint roller in my gang of friends and if I can be so bold to say, I'm pretty fucking good at it.

But I rarely master the paper tuck when I'm rolling one. Whether it's my style, my paper, my fingers, or my lack of proper technique... it just doesn't roll snug and tucked. But they always turn out sexy and more importantly, very smokeable. You've got to find what works for you.  Keep in mind that you can't force the weed to roll, you have to be gentle with it. Keep rolling it with light fingers and it will tighten up on it's own. Then you can fold over the sticky end and cover up any messy looking tucks (or lack thereof).

I found that in the beginning, it was easier to roll big fat joints. The smaller ones usually ended up torn or looking as though they'd been trod on.

  8. I find so long as the weed right next to the filter/tip is nice and tight and you get it tucked tightly at this end then the rest seems to work itself out. If its too loose just tap it down/ poke it down
