Flea Larry Graham Bootsie Collins Marcus Miller James Jamerson Fieldy (nostalgia more than anything he plays simple shit but his unique style I always was into...some people don't like his tone...but the fact he invented his own little bass style that's about as unique as they come, solidifies him as a bass god in my book). Stu Hamm Cliff Burton Victor Wooten Les Claypool Eric Wilson Kyle McDonald of Slightly Stoopid Stevie Ray Vaughn Steve Harris Many Many others.
Bass Guitarist are still guitarist so I don't understand why they wouldn't apply. I love jean's playing, but it's a bit too technical for me I can't get into it...I can only take note of his fucking flawless technique.
Bass is fine in my guitar hero book. my bass hero is john paul jones. I know it sounds cliche and painfully obvious but jonesy is truly a god on bass. His new stuff with Them Crooked Vultures is amazing. On a side note I can't get my Profile picture to work can anyone help me there it comes up on my profile but not on my posts
This is their set ender. Sometimes it goes on for up to an hour. (Depending on how high they are I think haha) Guitar/Vocals-Josh Homme Drums-Dave Grohl Bass-John Paul Jones Warsaw (or the First Breath You Take After You Give Up) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9Cxj1fBXL8]YouTube - Them Crooked Vultures - 06 Warsaw part 1 (Pro-shot, Reading 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryevW2_u-1M&feature=related]YouTube - Them Crooked Vultures - 06 Warsaw part 2 (Pro-shot, Reading 2009)[/ame]
Flea on bass The Satch! Buckethead Steve Vai Dimebag Jimmy Hendrix Leo Kottke = master of the 12 string acoustic
Steve Howe was a prog master. Old Yes is some of my favorite music the late 70s stuff is catchy but the earlier stuff is mind blowing [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ZmIFR4Sc0]YouTube - Steve Howe - Clap + Mood for a day[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yKeXlM0fME]YouTube - Beyond and Before by Yes[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xql99I1VSdI]YouTube - Roundabout[/ame]
