Im looking for documentarys that open up your mind?

  1. I disagree about Religulous being discredited as just a comedy. I think it raises a lot of information and each interview is filmed as it happens and other than the questions atheists have asked people of faith countless times none of it is scripted. It is a documentary.

I would also recommend most things I've seen on BBC other than one or two tabloid style pseudo documentaries I've seen on cannabis. There was a pretty creepy one I saw about guys who owned really expensive sex dolls and even another about people who fell in love with inanimate objects.

    Otherwise I would recommend:

    Religulous
    The Cove
    Sicko
    Jesus Camp
    Man on Wire
    etc.

Has anyone seen Facing Ali? It looks like it could be pretty good.

  2. Yeah. One o my favorite parts is when the hemp farmer says that we are currently in a civil war. Cannabis supporters and the DEA. I have never realized that.

  3. the union. it is the most powerful documentary i have ever seen fuck im watching it right now again

  4. Not sure if its been mentioned but have a look for "The IceMan - Richard Kuklinski" doco. There are a couple on him but the one with psycho analysis is, when not brutally disturbing, actually really interesting after a blunt or two. Enjoy!

  5. cocaine cowboys is a great documentary.

  6. Yeah I've never seen it until I watched it twice yesterday. I'm halfwa throgh it again today.

  7. Being non scripted doesn't make it a documentary. Anyway its a very biased and one sided film. I'd rather watch well-made documentarys that aren't so biased. Bill Maher himself is just an annoying person IMO.

    Religulous: Boring

Jesus Camp: If you want to get creeped out by brainwashing..then go ahead. I watched 5 minutes of it...and stopped, it was creepy.

Union: Still need to watch it.

I have found some really good ones at none other than Youtube: YouTube - Films

This stuff is actually really good.
