Is it just me or do more people want Cannabis to NOT be sold in liquor stores?

  1. I dont know about you, but I would rather go somewhere where people know what theyre talking about rather than it being some mass production thing bagged up behind the counter of a liquor store with some guy whos probably never taken the time to learn about Cannabis. I'd rather have Cannabis be avialable in a place LIKE a dispensary, or even a headshop. I just feel the people there could help you make a more informed purchase. And If they sold it at headshops, thats one stop shopping for your smoking needs. Plus, you would be able to trust the dispensary type buy more, because dont lots of them grow their own shit?

  2. How about just enabling business owners to purchase a license to sell it, EXACTLY the same way that alcohol is done, so that no matter what type of business you own, you may sell it if you wish? No point in excluding anyone.....

  3. I'm just saying Id rather go to a specialty shop where people know what theyre talking about, IMO.

  4. If you look at any market, you will see that there are multiple price points catering to different segments of the population. For any product you can think of, you can buy a poor quality one that is mass produced, a high quality one that is mass produced, and a very high end item that is carefully manufactured by a specialist.

Marijuana, once legalized, should be sold where ever people can think to sell it.

  5. Then you'll end up going to specialty shops (which I'm sure there will be plenty of) instead of your local gas station, liquor store or supermarket. Simple as that -.-

  6. Well I think one main reason is that lowlifes who are just into fucking up their lives on a specific night will come into the liquor stores and just buy cigs, booze, and weed just to waste their life away. The people with addictive, escapist personalities will just add weed to their list because it is so conveniently placed next to booze.

With that the public more and more sees weed as just a social problem (but worse than alcohol because its newly legalized).

  7. First off, this is America, they are allowed to do that. As long as they are not a danger to other people, who cares what an individual does? They are choosing to live their lives that way.

Next, drug use does not spike when a drug is legalized. Check out what happened in Portugal: drug use actually declined.

  8. worrying about this in america at this point is pointless

  9. I Just Say No to weed in liquor stores. Can't imagine it being a smart combo and I think the head shops that have held on for decades despite a list of government sanctions on their stores and what they can and can't do, deserve a shot at it

  10. I don't care. But Partnership for a Drug Free America does. They will use the images and statistics in smear campaigns. Just because it gets legalized does not mean it will stay legal.

  11. Personally I don't care where it's sold as long as it's legal. Why worry about something that has yet to br a reality at this point.

  12. Exactly. Let's get it legal first. Don't count your chickens yet.

  13. I disagree

It's like saying you can't find a bottle of fine wine or expensive spirits in a liquor store just because they don't "know what they're talking about"

Maybe some people need someone to hold their hand through a purchase, but not everyone needs counseling sessions on which weed is right for them

  14. If it is legalized, I wouldn't mind liquor stores setting up a marijuana isle. I think it would be kind of annoying to have to the liquor store for liquor and then drive to the weed store for weed. There is no reason why liquor store owners wouldn't hire people that know about weed. Since weed and alcohol go together well, there is no reason they shouldn't be sold together.

  15. eventually it will be available in Walmart -- the sales staff won't be able to make recommendations --- just do your research on the web...;)

  16. Unless the guy behind the counter's growing it why do you care what he knows about weed?

  17. After legalization of marijuana, I believe all stores should be able to sell it with a license, just as they can alcohol. Now, that's not to say I'm opposed to specialty shops devoted to pot. It would be great to be able to head to a local pot store to buy a certain strain you're looking for! We shouldn't rule out anything. :)

  18. I'm still stuck on whether or not I want that to happen. On one hand, I want quality cannabis to be widely available. But on the other hand, I don't want it to get commercialized to the point where the quality gets diminished AND the only people making money off of it are the corporations. I would honestly like to keep it at the local farmer to local market level for as long as possible, but then again, that's what I do for bread and butter lately, so maybe that's why I think this way. But I also think that this ensures the highest quality meds being grown with actual knowledge regarding the plant exchanged by the grower and dispensary to the actual "patient".

  19. I'd rather they be kept separate as well, let the alcohol guys sell their alcohol but let the people who know what they are doing dispense the MJ
