Hey errrrrrybody!

I got my wisdom teeth out today (all 4.... sucks for me, liquid munchies suck ) aaand i was wondering if anyone else has had their wisdom teeth taken out, and if so, did you smoke weed during the recovery period and if so, how often?

I was told not to smoke 8 hours prior to the operation (i think they meant cigarettes, but i smoked cigs and weed about 12 hours before the op [i slept after i blazed, woke up and did the operation]). We are told not to smoke as it could cause infection and a person would be putting themselves at the most risk (to infection) when smoking.

Now i assume they were talking about tobacco, so i want to know how smoking weed affected your recovery time/ stitches. Weed as we all kno is extremely less harmful to the body. which is why im planning on smoking weed tommorow; however, if it is smoke itself (the burned plant matter) which causes infection, im thinking i mihgt just have to stick with perc (courtesy of the doc of course ;)) or maybe see if i could borrow a buddys vape.

anyways, any feedback is appreciated and if you kno the answer dont loaft to reply!! i really wanna wake nd bake tommorow :)

the thing you want to avoid is dry socket, where the blood clot gets sucked out, exposing nerves to air. very painful and can happen because of the suction caused when smoking.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out at the same time, and I smoked the next day.

yeahhh i was thinking about putting sum gauss there, but i was thinking that maybe it would increase the risk of infection since the gauss would absorb all the burnt plant matter, sort of like how a spoof turns brown after a couple exhales. but now that i think about it.... it would be better for the gauss to absorb that shit so that my socket isnt lol.

I usualy smoke bong so should i go for something a little less suction-intense?? (no homo haha). i.e. blunts or js..... or maybe even a waterfall/bucket since the water would do the pulling for me? :P

I had all 4 of mine taken out as well, & courtesy to my Dr. Cocaine, he told me to wet two pieces of gauze & lightly push them down into each socket. When you're taking the hit kinda keep your upper & lower jaw together so your teeth are touching & don't breathe in too deep or fast. I smoked everyday after the surgery & was fine but I didn't smoke cigs just bc of all the horror stories of dry socket.
Oh, & don't drink anything through straws! :smoking:

Exactly. It is the act of sucking on whatever you're smoking that is the problem, not the substance being smoked. However, smoking TOBACCO will slow your recovery and increase your risk for complications. Vasoconstriction is not a good thing when you're trying to heal from surgery.

This.

I would definitely suggest NOT trying to rip a huge bong cause that's just going to tear out your stitches. A joint or blunt would be perfect cause you can generally get a good haul on it without creating a completely airtight seal with your lips and causing intense suction.

And like someone said before, straws are a big no-no!

I had 12 of my top teeth pulled and smoked as soon as I got home. Because my mouth was still numb, I couldn't get a grip on anything with my lips, so my husband just gave me shotguns. Worked like a charm :D

The following week, I had to go back and get 9 more pulled from the bottom and did the same thing...shotguns.

Like others said, it's the sucking you gotta worry about. If you have a blood clot forming in the hole, suction will dislodge it, and you certainly don't want that

And, yeah...liquid munchies suck. I couldn't eat solid food for almost 8 months until I was completely healed up and my falsies came in. I lost almost 10 pounds that I didn't need to lose

Just thought i'd finish this for anyone wanting to smoke after getting their wisdom teeth out.

My recovery was about 4 days and a week for the stiches. I smoked every day although I finished 24 percs in 3 days, so probably only smoked once a day for those days. I started smoking cigarettes pretty much after the percs were done.

Luckily, I didn't get a dry socket, although my doctor could tell I was smoking. I kept my mouth pretty clean (brushed after meals, so 3-4times a day) and kept gaus over my sockets when I toked my bong.

A good idea would have been to make a bucket/waterfall, but I just love toking bong too much! Good luck blades hope this helps!

I'd suggest you just stray strong for those 8 hours and do whatever after that.

Damn dude, yeah I got an ice sling on my face and I'm pissed off haha. Tried getting my girl to shotgun me but it didn't work well and I got nervous the smoke would irritate the wound (since it'd only been a few hours) really wanting to vape but am worried the hose would be too much suction.

Anyway bongsauce, hit me up when you have time to talk coco, I'm yanking my hair out with this shit. Everything seems perfectly healthy but growth is soooo slow (buddy started same strain, same batch of seeds in soil a week after I planted in coco and his are like 6x the size of mine. 1 months old, like 6 inches tall lol)

:smoke: <--- wish that were me
