marijuana has made me smarter by opening my mind

  1. "It has that potential IF paired with the right personality. The thugs and kids who just smoke "to get fucked up" would be the wrong kind of personality's.

Marijuana has brought forth amazing revelations of truth for me and my life, and the world around me. Seriously, there's too much I want to say to put it all into one post right now. It has revealed to me my identity and who I am in this crazy world, it has put things into perspective, it has made me look at everything in a 3rd person view, outside of my body, it has opened my eyes to the truth. Once you know that truth (the good and the bad, you don't get to pick) you can never go back. It is for this reason that I am such a big marijuana advocate. Really, its a bit scary, the uncensored reality shown to me, that we call life.

I think it's a much bigger deal for me because, as said before, those thought pathways already existed for me, and in my personality and mind, so marijuana was the key, or lubrication for lack of a better analogy, for all those thoughts to flow."

I googled 'weed makes me smarter' and came across this old post here on GC. I reading some peoples posts' and i thought this description fit me very well. I am really enjoying feeling like this, especially as I finish up college. I feel like the mental growth i have gone through in the past couple months is extraordinary and i feel like my brain is developing and changing more than ever and i don't think it would have done so, to this extent, without the presence of pot.
I just wanted to share this with you all. I think its pretty cool. I'm thoroughly enjoying life. It's a fun game.
    What are your experiences?

  2. i feel the same way man. its really helped me to put everything into perspective, and not worry about the little things. its like you said, it depends on your personality. some people its just a way to get fucked up and have a good time. other people its a way to put yourself in a better state of mind as far as managing the stresses in life and thinking for the future. overall, i love it :hello:

  3. I like that. It feels good, too, to know that others are the same way...
    maybe that word is "Intelligent"

  4. Well, weed removes my mind's censor-filter and makes me able to think freely, deal with taboos and accept facts even though I may not like them. I've always been a thinker; I think long and detailed about many things from obstacles in my life to how frequency-modulation works.

After I started smoking and started thinking freely I started figuring things out. About myself, about the society, about the universe etc. I've always been a logical minded person; I will only accept a thought or theory if it makes sense to me logically. Naturally I believed strictly in science for a long time. However, the more I philosophized about scientific stuff and the stuff science couldn't explain I found the link to spirituality - not organized religions but spirituality.

  5. I'm not too sure about marijuana making you smarter, but i do believe that it pushes you in the right direction depending on the person.

For me, it totally opened my mind, question after question, thought after thought, it made me want to do more research on many many things. Thus making me gain more knowledge.

Now, i'm not too sure if it has to do with growing older or smoking marijuana. But usually i get all my deep thoughts and ponders when im baked. Nawmean???

I also gain quite an enormous amount of knowledge due to forums such as this. The fact that this forum is mainly about marijuana is a major +

    Lots of thinkers here.

  6. It all comes down to how you define "smart". If "smart" is knowing a whole lot of stuff marijuana doesn't make you smart, only education does. I don't believe that's what smart means though. I believe "smart" means how good you are at understanding stuff. Of course, knowledge is the key to understanding but "smart" is how well you're able to utilize your already acquired knowledge to understand the unknown. In other words, it's not the number of pieces in your puzzle but how well you're able to arrange them..

  7. Open your eyes to the world and the world will open your mind.

  8. ^^This. Thanks for a great explanation. like this, im learning how to put these feelings into words and in order. Thanks for understanding and polishing up what i was trying to say.

  9. old thread, but i have to say i've had the exact same experience with weed, right now i would most likely be in a very dark place if i hadn't been introduced to this magical substance

Same for me since i suffer with depression but after smoking the herb im starting to feel happier lol

  11. we all know if politicians and pigs smoked weed there would be no more war.

  12. a lot of jamaican reggae artists touch on this truth in their music as well if you hadnt noticed lol. It all depends on the person/personality right. Thats why you have people who honestly say that weed just makes them stupid, or slow. It doesnt mean they are lying. They just arent reaping the benefits that a lot of people are. Arguments sometimes ensue between users and non users because of this, people dont understand drugs effect the mind, and all our minds are already vastly different to begin with.

  13. I can totally relate to this absolutely, as first starting smoking bud it has opened my mind in many ways that wouldn't if I didn't meet it, made me how fucked up and corrupt the world is with politicians acting like puppets just saying things for the public to hear and how people will just agree to anything without research or waking up to the corruption.

I can analyze people's emotion, body language, I can tell an pretentious person and a person that doesn't act fake (my family put some kind of facade behind them) but I grew out of it and just keep in touch with real personality. I guess I use it in a more of a spiritual form more than just recreational but I like that, it brings a whole lot of ideas and thoughts also love learning when I'm high gotta boost your knowledge.

  14. For me, cannabis is a "mind lubricant". The ideas slip and slide into new formations and make new connections. I wrote most of my best college papers stoned to the max- The profs liked my "novel takes on tired old subjects" (to quote one). I did have to go and correct run-ons, the occasional verb tense problem and spelling, but the ideas flowed beautifully!

Stoned math is a disaster, though! lol No jump in ability there! Math is "fixed" and "solid"- it doesn't take to slippy, slidey ideas like writing does.

  15. I know this forum is a few years old but I recently stopped smoking for the semester (until now) and I honestly think it has caused my grades to slip because I can't deal with stress very easily. I'm enrolled in two easy courses (International Econ, Spanish) and two difficult ones (Quantitative Econ, Operations Research-LP), and I have been struggling to make it to class or complete my homework to the best of my ability. I just smoked a few hours ago and the Q.E. hw I have been struggling with just became so much simpler because I was able to transcend my mind into the mathematics I was studying and understand what it was that I was trying to show so much clearer (Envelope Theorem apps. to Utility maximization).

I've struggled through college trying to figure out why I underachieve so much when I know I have so much more potential (2.855 GPA first two years) and since I've started smoking more regularly I've gotten above a 3.5 each semester and finally made deans list in the spring. I was under the impressions held by most that smoking made you a lazy, unmotivated person who will fall behind in life. I've found that it gives me confidence in what I'm doing, it helps my mind focus on one thing but also experimenting with that single thought and finding new connections like some of you said. I'm sure that part of it is that I've grown as a person mentally/spiritually during this important time in my youth but I am for certain that marijuana has only enhanced my mental capabilities and I truly advocate it's use for those of us who drift off during the day because our minds are so fascinated with this puzzle we call life.

  16. Marijuana is also proven to aid in the process of decalcifying your pineal gland which in the long run helps align your inner chakras. When the pineal gland is cleansed it is proven that your mind works more efficiently making it easier to retain knowledge. Trippy shit but true 👍

  18. There's a certain unmentionable that is way more potent than weed related to the pineal gland which when taken, gives you an ineffable, but profoundly life-changing experience.

  19. Yea ok guy, and there has not ever been a catholic priest that makes little boys choke his chicken.
