Auto AK47 EasyRyder Grow - 2x90w UFO LED + CFL + SmartPots

Sup GC,

Just doing another Auto AK grow. I'll be using two 90w UFO LED's. One running with 10 brite white lights, 10 Blue lights and 70 Red at 660nm. The second UFO LED will be with 10 Blue and 80 Red at 630nm. I'll also be combining them with a couple 26watt CFL's - 6500K for veg and 2700k for flower.

I will also be using distilled water and FFOF soil in 1 gallon SmartPots. You can find more info on Smart Pots here Container Gardening, Hydroponic Gardening with Smart Pots Fabric Containers

I will not put any nutes until flowering starts which will be FloraNova Bloom and some Humbolt's Own Gravity during end of flower.

Three Auto AK47 from Attitude Seeds will be used all feminized. They will be grown in a grow tent.

Currently the 3 seeds are being germinated between a wet paper towel with water and some Superthrive.

What up GC, Quicky update..

EasyRyders are at 11 days.. All 3 seeds germed, but 1 has died. This was due to humidity issues I was having. The other 2 are doing very well. Some pics!

One of the 2 is growing quite vigorous compared to the other, I thought this may be due to one of the LED's having different nm so I switched the pots around to see if it made a difference but nothing.

I've added a 3rd 26w CFL, bit ghetto but works for me. I've been keeping the lights about 6-8 inches from the top.

A quick video update of my ladies! Hope you enjoy..

These ladies are 24 DAYS @ 18/6 Light Cycle from start to finish., They started flowering at about 14 days, so they should be at 10 Days Flowering.

One is showing more Sativa characteristics and the other is showing more Indica dominant, but they both are about the same height and they showed sex at the same time. I am very interested on how the smoke will be like for these two ladies.

I really like this plant. Fast growth, stocky and vigorous...So far low odor, the temps vary from 70-76 degrees.

No ones probably reading this, but for journaling sake... in 24 hours the ladies have grown almost 4 inches, wow! I love this plant... its going through its stretch. I think the smartpots are really helping out, I dont think I will use anything else from now on!

I'm also doing an easy ryder grow in a ten gallon dwc bucket. My plants are on day 17 from germination. Is that how you have your days counted or are they counted from when you put them in the smart pots? The reason I ask this is since mine look about the same size or maybe a bit bigger as yours when you said it was day 11.

I started mine in the smart pots. I am actually counting the days once the seedling broke out of the soil. I do not count the days of germination.. I'd like to see your grow

Quick 'noob' questions on the Smart Pots:

Do allow water through the sides/bottom? What do you use to catch drainage?
How wide would a 1 gallon smart pot be? (asking for a pc grow with a case 8.5 inch wide, 21 inch long and high)

Im not sure if this 1gallon pot will fit in a PC case, I think something more rectangular or smaller will be best unless you can mold the smart pot as it's cloth-like. You probably want a smaller container so your weed doesnt outgrow your pc case... I had that same issue with space

OK, thanks. I'm looking into a shallow-ish rectangular planter and apply LST, maybe the best way is to make sure its portable and water in the bathub!

I'll look into whether these can be molded and post back if there is any success.

*Update, Day 15 Flower - 29 Days total*

Plants are growing nicely, starting real low on the nute dosage about 1/3 strength. A couple sugar leaves on the bottom turned yellow, so maybe I'll up the dosage next feeding.

Im really liking the girl on the left, growing very strong and fast compared to its sister on the right. At first I thought it may be because the light as one has different spectrum then the other... Thinking that I swapped plants back and forth, but made no difference, must be the phenotype.

*Update Day 39*
*25 days of flower at 18/6*

Buds starting to get frosty and forming. Easyryder lady on left is doing much better then the one on the right! Much shorter then the one on the left...

The little plant in front that is vegging is supposedly "Blue Dream" strain, we'll see how that goes. I've topped it and going to LST soon.

Dood I wish I had an HPS right now lol, I was debating of sticking a 150w HPS in here, maybe next grow I will do a combination of LED and 150w HPS..

Im just waiting for about another week then gonna try out Humbolt's Own Gravity Flower Hardener....excited to see if that works well in combination with LED grows

I just hit the ladies with some Humboldt's Own Gravity and already I can tell the difference! The calyx's look more swollen, I think I am really liking this stuff. My main gripe about my last LED grow was the buds were a bit fluffy and to fight that I assumed I needed additional light intensity and more oxygen to roots. So I bought another UFO and added more CFL's, including using Smartpots so the roots can breathe. I think the Gravity was an added oomph, should have some pics by Monday. Cant wait to harvest!
