Hello all. Don Piano from the Design/Setup part of the forum is here with the new grow.
It is (currently) a 400wattMH for vegging in my mom closet and 2-600watt HPS for the flowering area. This rooms construction ( about 440pics in my last thread) can be seen in my CGE thread in my signature. I almost forgot to mention that this is all organic, not a chemical fert in sight.
Currently there are some flowering at 5weeks and some started flowering today. Most of these are 9 week strains but some are 10 and 11 week. #1, #2, #3, Solo-cup, and #4 get their trichs early and frost up real nice at the end. Here is one pic to start, many to follow. It is run vented with a carbon filter, along with a constant scrubber during the winter, and will be run CGE during the summer, completely sealed with a constant scrubber and AC. I have to go hang out in there now. Ask away when you have questions. Peace:smoke::wave:

Went and hung out for a while and everything runs like it is supposed to. Can not even believe it. See what careful planning and patience will get you? A clean operating machine free of flaws (at least I have no complaints thus far). So..
I am growing Greenhouse Seeds "Church". There are 2 of them in 5weeks flowering now (c1 and c2) and have 3 moms, one from each seed labeled as c1, c2 and c4 (3 never sprouted, 5 was crushed during shipping).
I have G-13 labs "Gigabud". there are 2 in 5weeks flowering and have a mom of it. The 2 are clones so identical.
I have a strain I labeled Solo-Cup about a year back or so, she is potent and has that real earthy taste. Great for sea of green setups but thrives in larger pots like 2gallon. This one is in a 5 gallon in 5 weeks flower , we will see how she likes that. I have one mom labeled "solo".
I have a Mom of Medical Seeds Co. "1024" labeled 1024-3. 1 and 2 I lost. I was supposed to reveg them because the clones I took never made it due to illness. Needless to say they got cut too far gone to reveg because I was not thinking. I hope it leans towards pheno1. That was some tasty shit. I smoked the last at the end of october and I still have some pheno2 left. It tastes like dirt. Honestly. Good stuff, but I prefer fruitier and skunkier, it is nice on occasion though.
I have 4 other strains labeled 1, 2,3,and 4. Clever huh? Well who needs fancy names when you are not competing in the "Cup"? I ain't selling, so whats a name got for me? Nothing. Anyway I have 2-#3's (one is 3r It is retarded), 1-#1, 1-#4,and 1-#2 in 5weeks flower, and moms to match.

I have a bunch of above named plants in random in flowering starting today, with the addition of a hybrid, made with forced male pollen of "Solo", and a female of the #1. i want flavor of Solo and the size of #1, both are just as potent as each other and just as easy to clone. Hopefully it turns out, it is the test flowering plant.

In the mom closet I have all the above moms and Some new babies started from seeds I gained from a friend to give to another friend;). Remember, no one knows that i do this, But I know people that do. Pics up in a few mins, gotta recheck the rooms.

Here are some more pictures.

Nice to see ya DH. Thank you for stopping by.

Here is round 2 of pics from the last post.

The 75%RH on the one unit is from being clipped to my wife's pants on the ride upstairs with multiple plants.

I went back up and checked it out again. Man! This thing holds temps like you would not believe. I get a 78degF-81degF fluctuation. Plenty of fresh air, and when you walk into the grow, you smell nothing, the scrubber works awesome. HIGHly recommended. Fans all over, mom closet blower cooling my ballasts, cold air intake, dehumidifier, carbon filter. I have that LoverBoy song ( well at least i believe it is LoverBoy) in my head," Loving every minute of it". Love the guitar in that song, and I am loving every minute of this.

Very cool, Piano.
I read a whole bunch (the majority) of your CGE thread quite a while ago.
Glad to see you getting "the real project" started and to hear it's off without a hitch!
That's some heavy design and planning you did mang!

I have a few church beans as well. I'm interested to see how your grow goes dude. I will have to design myself a perpetual system eventually if I ever want some consistency to my smoke. I dig reading about super detailed setups!

Thanks for all the little things you have inspired upon me throughout your CGE build.
I'm sure I'll learn tons more watching the actual grow!

Smokin, Thanks for stopping by. Glad you got some readage out of the CGE thread.
Not super pleased with the church as I have harvested this before, but it is a good break from the super potent strains I have. I find it just abit more potent than gigabud, which is not very powerful, a good daytime smoke.

Nukem, Yeah, I got jealous of your dual 600s so I had to go with it. Took lots of time to make this one, like yours, and it will be worth it in the end. Thanks for the vape rip, I finally was able to re-rep you a few days ago.

AW, nice to see ya. Doing alright. PT is going good, starting to get some mobility back, but not a whole lot yet, still in the chair most of the time. Subscribed huh? Stay tuned, it is about to get interesting. THis journal has been a long time coming!:smoke:

quite impressed with this. it's too bad that some of the tactics just aren't suited for small stealth grows :( i'm still deciding what i want to do in my half-finished box :)

definitely going to keep an eye on this...i love the idea of a CGE. it makes it seem so legit

CGE is useful no matter how small the grow, it is just how you do it. I do not know how small your grow is, but CGE can be done 88% of the time. If you are referring to micro grows it will not work very well. But one could use a mini fridge (with a real compressor, on top of, or next to a microgrow, exchanging cold air.

Thank you Inspektor. I always say that if you treat your grow room like a Laboratory with the cleanliness you will only have to deal with plants, not molds, fungus and bugs. Clean is easier to work with, messes get in the way. I would like to think that I am a professional at what I do, but even professionals get better and new genetics to learn. Peace:smoke:

Well I had catastrophic failure of my exhaust duct on my mom closet, but it has been resolved. Got to 90 in there. shite! THe ducting actually had split in 2 held by only the wire inside so it was not connected at all. So, I took a new piece, moved the dayton up a few notches higher, and voila, cooling moms again. With no exhaust only getting to 90 with a 400watt halide is pretty good if you ask me. Found a small light leak on the window board, taking care of that tonite!

So, not flawless, but far from fuct.

Love trim time. Finger hash. A few months ago I was harvesting a plant or 2 every other day. One job worth the end result.

Wow Don. That no.3 at 5 weeks (I think...the 2nd picture) is beautiful.

Hey Don, I had a couple questions for you if you don't mind. I consider you the resident set-up wizard around here so I'd like your opinion.

I notice that you use regular ducting. I went with insulated ducting because I figured the insulation would keep the heat inside better. However, it does take up more space and thus impedes airflow through the cab more than regular ducting probably would. So...should I assume your opinion is regular ducting > insulated ducting?

The other thing I was wondering about is if you think it's possible to rig a mini-fridge to cool down a grow cab. My idea was to cut a 4 inch hole and just run some ducting from the mini-fridge to the cab... What do you think?

Sorry if this is a hijack or anything. I don't want to detract from your grow man. :smoking:

Every Advewrsity Carries With It The Seed of Equal or Greater Benefit.

Trimming 30 to 40 oz of weed by yourself sucks.

Several grams of amazing finger hash (and you know whose fingers it came off of)?

Friggin Priceless!!
