  1. Hey everyone at GC,

I've been inactive from this from this community for awhile now and i'd love to get back here cuz everyone here is way chill.

So lately i've been dreading my hair and i just wanted to fill you guys in on it if you feel like reading a Dread Journal Haha. I'm basically doing this to experience the beautiful naturality of hair and how it grows. I've always wanted dreads and never had the chance to do it because i was always watched over by parents and all. Growing up as a Christian i didnt understand the belief 100% though i did experience feeling that presence once in my life but recently my eyes opened up to a more free lifestyle and im happy to say that being an open minded individual has its benefits of happiness.

So i started my dreading last night and so far its looking ok. Of course with patience my dreads wil look the way i want them to depending on care and method.

Wish me luck and please if you have anything to say about it both negative or positive feel free. I'm just here to share the experience :D

Pictures will be posted every now and then mostly monthly. Hope you stick around to see my locks grow :)

  2. When you said you've been dreading your hair, I thought you meant dread as in fear, haha, wow, I was like wtf? he's afraid of his hair? haha man i'm retarded.

  3. cant wait to see this thread progress. nice camera too

  4. HAHAH damn that's funny! All good man i probably would've had the same thought ahah.

Thanks and yea i'll def post updates but i'm gonna try to make it as best as possible. every month would be a bit repeatative due to the process (it'd look the same for months until they mature more)

so i'll post pics when i can :D and maybe get suggestions on what to decorate them with haha

  5. Quick Update*

This is Day 3 after a shower.

Looks like the backcombed sections are beginning to stay together. Of course a lot of loose hairs came out already but that's normal. really if you look at it it doesnt even look like i even backcombed hair but rather just teased the shit out of a few hairs hah.

A lot of the back sets of baby dreads fell out during the first few weeks which is normal. They are starting to take form again and knot up.

anyways it's going well and i think this will be my final hair style once they mature :)

    enjoy.

  7. i cant wait to see how yours end up
doing them by yourself must be hard, i had 4 people do mine and it took 11 hours

  8. Yeah, it was hard but i had a friend help me out the first night and after that i did the rest which i finished in a two day span (over the weekend) hah a lot of it fell out so no im going neglect method or patience. It's very nice to experience the neglect method cuz you notice a lot of knotting and its pretty cool :)

Anyways, how long are you in on your journey?

    PICS!!!

haha oh and if you want to communicate with other dreadheads i suggest you take a visit to Dreadlock Truth they are one of the best communities out there and very loving and caring for its fellow dreadies.
